As some may know I have been working on a horseman's knife to take to Blade Show this June(this knife is not available) and thought I would post some of the pictures here. This knife is based on a Geo. Wostenholm and Son , pattern 210. Pattern 211 would be the same knife with shield. I used a 210 to pattern my parts and wanted to stay as true as possible to that knife. A few minor changes in the backsprings and the center divider. This is my first horseman's/sportsman's knife and I learned a lot. I have a list of do's and dont's when I get around to making the next one. Thanks for looking and comments good, bad are always welcome. I did want to extend thanks to Richard Rogers for some very useful tips and suggestions(on my list of do's for the next one) and John Lloyd for sending some stag that worked well on this knife.

The knife is 3 1/2 closed, with a master spear, pen secondary, fleam, hoof-pick/nut cracker, corkscrew and leather punch. Blade steel is 154cm with corkscrew, punch and hoof-pick CPM154cm. Lathe-turned brass oil bottle with stopper topped with Mammoth ivory.

The Stag turned out just great, Ken! What a beauty!!

Congrats, Ken on a major accomplishment. You should feel deservedly proud of what you've created.

Unbelievable! What an absolutely gorgeous package. That may be the first modern/custom fleam ever, at least the first in my experience. The corkscrew must have been a challenge; looks perfect. Well done, sir - that's gotta be one of the finest examples of the breed ever crafted.

I don't think I've ever seen a knife with a blade devoted to bloodletting.

Is there a chance that you could post the picture or drawing of the Geo. Wostenholm and Son , pattern 210 knife or even the knife you patterned this knife after? That would really be something to see.

Excellent work and attention to detail.

This turned out great, Ken! I thoroughly enjoyed the WIP pics in your thread and it's wonderful to see it as a finished piece. Thank you for sharing the building process and the exceptional end result of your hard work.

That is a beautiful piece of craftmanship. It also looks like a real bugger to design and execute but I'd guess that made it all the more satisfying once it was done. The oil bottle is great too, a cherry on the sundae. You could probably sell those on their own.
