Some more of that water Buff overlay. This time on a Pancake sheath:

I came across this old thread I did sometime ago. Thought some of the folks here would enjoy it:

Was at a graduation party the other day and saw this:

Karyn's drink was too cold and she had to assist the slush out of the bottle. Karyn is a very old friend (her granddaughter's graduation) and has one of the few folders I ever made. This is a pic of it. Just a kit knife that I handled and assembled as I was figuring out the complexities of a lockback. Good to see it's still in use after many years. What I figured out from the few I made way back when was folders ain't for me.

Another friend John came over yesterday and spent most of the day in the shop with me. He has numerous belts, knives, sheaths, holsters all kinds of things we've made him over the years. He wanted to kind of learn how to make a belt so I said I'd help him. Kind of a cool pic because he's wearing a Horsewright belt while working on his new one.

I helped him with the fitment of the buckle set and I did the tooling. Otherwise he pretty much did the rest. I'd show what to do and how to do it and then step back. He even ran the sewing machine and did a great job. His new belt:

He'd also brought over an old Leatherman sheath he'd taken apart and wanted to use as a template to build a new sheath for his Wave. Instead of a snap on the flap we used a brass stud. He really liked it.

Very cool combo, good team work.
Nice work Professor Dave...😉......Looks like he learned right quick..👌
Thanks

Yes he did. We were really impressed with his ability to run the sewing machine. We showed him a lil bit how to run it and did a short section for him and then turned him loose while we hovered over him. He did a great job. He was amazed at just how many small lil steps there were to turning out quality leather work.
