Horton Knives, Camp Blood...........proto

Dude! You just made your mark!
The only chopper I've seen in a while worthy of praise. IMLTHO.;)

I received the proto in the mail on Monday. I am making a dangler sheath for it for Jeremy. He sent me a PM today saying that I could do some chopping with it while I have it. I am going to go out now to give it a light beating. I will report back here tomorrow with the results and review. :D

Jeremy actually told me I could use his proto a little bit while I had it. I took it out last night and did some chopping. I spent about 20 minutes chopping various pieces and types of wood. I first chopped a couple 2 x 4's, the knife ate it up and I was through it in no time. I decided that the 2 x 4's were way too soft so i got out a 5 inch diameter maple limb that I kept when my tree fell over. I has been drying in my garage and I figured it would be a little bit harder than the pine. I was right it was really hard wood. I started off taking it easy as I didnt want to break the knife...haha.. within about 20 seconds I was wailing away. This knife is a good chopper and after I was done beating the snot out of it, I fully expected to have to do some edge repair. No worries there, the edge was not deformed at all. This is a tough knife. The handle was very comfortable and in my limited chopping I didnt experience any kind of hand discomfort. Well done Jeremy. :D

I took some pics of the knife and sheath and here they are.

I need another knife like I need another hole in my ass! -but I'm feeling the need for this bad boy!

Your knifemaking progression is amazing to watch -it's been only one year since you first showed-up here but your knife designs and skills have 'matured' in leaps & bounds! (I have one of your early tantos btw)

Respects to ya!

PM sent.

That is a mighty mighty sturdy looking blade, it really cries out "lemme beat the sh*t outta something!"

Very nice sheath chuddy bear. Makes for a great looking total package!

Nice job Jeremy!

I really like that knife. It's kinda Busse (handle fasteners), and kinda airkat (machined grooves for function and design) which is awesome. It's tough looking without being cheesey like other designs I won't mention. Awesome knife. The especially sweet dangler doens't hurt its looks either.

Hey Jeremy, great work!!! I really like your design and am impressed with the hamon. Keep up the good work.
