I don't fear the Busse forum. Just don't like it as much as I used to.

Too much about the money and not enough about the comraderie. Hell, Jerry won't even update the HOG list out of fear he'll offend an Internet HOG.

I feel pretty much the same way. its a brotherhood, not a bank.

bear, that is crazy fast, good to know. My series 70 gold cup doubles from time to time, do you recommend Colt or a local gun shop?

Dang Pepper - Most people are trying to double tap :D

Assuming this is what you are talking about, albeit unintentional, you may only need a new sear spring - Have you ever done any trigger work on this one?

May want to replace the magwell spring, and recoil spring too, depending on how much use this one has seen. Also, I would recommend replacing the plunger tubes and plunger springs, as they are good for a couple thousand rounds in most all 1911's.

If you do not feel comfortable replacing the ss, then there are other places who also do good work. If Colt can turn your gun around as fast, then I would say send it to them. If you want trigger work, then Cylinder & Slide.

I posted a link over on Angryfish's thread about his SA 1911, that is a pretty good video of 1911 disassembly. There are actually several good ones on You Tube. There was one that was an animated 3D vid of complete breakdown and assembly of a 1911. It is really good - watch them all

You may already be proficient in taking one completely apart, so no offense intended.

If you decide to go thru Colt - their # is 800-962-Colt -

If you need a line on parts - try Brownell's, Numerich, or Colt
for factory or quality aftermarket parts

Bear, Thaks a lot! And, yes, it is an unintentional occurance and a real ''WTF'' momment when it occurs. I'll get those parts and give it a try.
I had a gs try to fix it a few years back and the problem has remained. I did have him try again but to no avail, so I will try your route . Thanks again.

Bernard Madoff, the guy that ran that multi billion dollar ponzi scheme.

LOL - I was trying to place the handle on the Blade Forum - DUh :D

He deserves not to be happy after what he did to all of those people - Greedy Bastid:mad:
