I got a question. Maybe one of you other men can chime in with help.

Fieldstripped and cleaned my springer 1911 tonight and now the hammer is stuck back and even with safety off and depressing the trigger, the hammer will not come forward. My gun is literally cocked n locked.


Any advice?

The hammer will travel about 1/4 inch backward into the beavertail grip safety.

Yeah. Tried that. Being a 1911 noob I think I may end up sending it to the springfield custom shot for a lookover sooner rather than later.
