Pair O' 308's

nice Tom! 300yd range? schmidt and bender huh? wanna adopt a 31 year old civil servant? :D

Thanks, guys. Yup, 300 yards. The Schmidt is pretty awesome, fixed 10 x 42. The Savage groups really well with the German surplus they have at AIM right now.

Gonna hopefully get out there again today or tomorrow with the AK 74's.

Not real impressed with the accuracy. Could be my re-loads though. I only made up one load for quiteness. I don't own a chrono, so I guess I will bump it up a grain at a time. Until it gets noisy, and/or the accuracy improves.

It is nice and quiet though. Kind of like air rifle. It was such a nice and peaceful morn. Until some other guys showed up with their noisy guns.

After I put everything away. I started walking down to the 100 yd board. There was two does behind the 25 yd berm, eatin grass. Not sure if they were there the whole time. But apparently it was quiet enough not to bother them.

could you change the angle of the bolt knob to give you more clearance?

I can't,,,:o

Maybe a good smith can. I'll check into it. Scope is too short to move back much further also.

I have other options though. It came with a weaver rail, so a red dot is an option. :)

Shit -

Had to dump 100 - 9mm re-loads because of my stupidity - the primer feed jammed in my 650 turned out it was just dirty - cleaned - re-filled with primers but I left the powder bar linkage unhooked  - loaded about 10 rounds with no powder :o mixed with 90 or so good rounds. (where is the facepalm smiley?)

Well the entire bin went into the to be pulled box.....:mad:

I like puzzles like that,
can you put the cartridges on a scale
and see the difference in weight
or is the weight so small it wouldnt show up?

4.5gr of powder should show up on the digital scale scale - however the projectiles I'm using are plated lead Berry 124gr.

I started weighting but they were coming from 188gr to 192gr and anywhere in between...
