Its actually very functional and built like a tank. I know they dont have the reputation of some of the german shops but they are pretty tough. Looks good next to Bushys Camp Horton as well.

I just ordered a Seiko Orange Monster. I'll have to check out that Nixon.

That thread left me with mixed emotions!!!

One.......I DON'T see value in a time piece, what can it do for you?
B.......why the HELL would you walk around with 8 grand on your wrist!

Maybe I just don't see any value behind watches but then again I don't collect them so I wouldn't.

Guns and knives you can use.....even if it is a "collectible".....

A watch simply tells you the time......and WHAT the hell is the good of being water resistant up to 1000 m!!!! You are NOT!!!

I can see a few different ones, even a few hundred each......an everyday knock around, a formal occasion and a back up....but I am sure the same is said of ALL collectibles by folks who don't collect.

Maybe it is a touch envy, that someone "can" put up that much for something so inconsequential as a time piece....

But in the end.To each his own.

My watches all cost well under 600$ I have many knives and guns that cost more than that. Are they redundant. Many are. That being said, Each of them gets wrist time and I'm not afraid to knock em around. They are functional timepieces. Honestly I cant justify spending 1000's of dollars on a watch myself; but I can appreciate fine timepieces and the artistry that goes into making them.

Like I said "I" don't get it...I don't buy them.........

Just posting my point of view.

Some folks collect cars....much more money in that, but to "ME" it is a watch....maybe it's that I never had a nice watch nor can I stand wearing them, or even anything along those lines......I don't even wear my wedding ring.

I can understand and appreciate the, "fine timepieces and the artistry that goes into making them" piece....that is true, some really do look more like pieces of Art than a simple watch.:thumbup:

Thats kind of where I'm at too. My watches always end up getting broken. So I don't even wear one any more. :o

10-96!

I love watches, but I just cannot afford the nice ones. I have no piercing, tats, or jewelry, but some day I'll sport a sweet TAG on the wrist. It is undoubtedly a matter of preference, but I appreciate a nice watch. I definitely understand why people don't like them, as I typically don't wear much more than a pair of jeans, and a jockey undershirt. To each his own.
