D2: An air-hardened tool steel, which offers good corrosion resistance and excellent mileage in wear resistance. A good choice for hard use applications.

Nah - I wipe her down with light coat of oil from time to time

i think it's an XT. i like that its rechargeable, but its not a necessity. I can get batteries at the PD. I'd like one that will fit in the same sheath if possible

Rlarge, I have Surefires, Fenixs and others. My favorite new EDC is the Quark AA2. It has a max of 170 lumen on 2 AA batteries. They have a little brighter ones if you have access to cheap/free CR123As. If you want to try them, let me know. The Quarks have a 10 year warranty, which I think is great for a hard use light..
