Hos do you guys decide what to carry?

I rotated thru 5-10 knives for years, and struggled in the morning with which one to carry. I regularly took 2-3 knives with me to work so I could continue the decision making process during my commute.

After ruining many pairs of pants (wearing them inside out from in pocket carry and outside in from clip damage) I forced myself to focus in on what I really liked about a folding knife.

Soooooooo, after many many $$$$$$$$$$$$$ and a lot of stress I sold most of my collection and now edc a CRK Umnumzaan in a calfskin sheath. This is with me 24/7, doesn't eat my pants, and pretty much hits a lot of my "wants" in regards to a knife.

My advice is to force yourself to kick the addiction and try to get 2-3 great knives that really hit your "sweet spot"

Now, if I could just get my hands on a Galyean and a Demko...:D

While I used to do the "rotation" thing all the time, since I bought the Cold Steel Black Rhino it has become my edc of choice. On my left pocket I am carrying an Al MAr Eagle ultralight, clipped for l/h carry.

A lot of the other large knives (4.5 or larger) I have are unobtainable these days, and I only carry something I will really not be too upset about if it gets confiscated. The Black Rhino may be unobtainable, but I only payed $65 for it, so it would not kill me to see it gone.

Unobtainable large knives include Camillus Cuda Maxx 5.5 Bowie, Benchmade Skirmish, Lone Wolf Harsey Tactical T3. I'd hate to lose one of these, so its best they stay at home.

Not much to decide for me.

Lately it's been my Centofante 4 at work 99% of the time. And the CPM Military at home or anytime I'm out in street clothes 99% of the time. I will often back up my home/out knife with a SAK or the CASE swayback jack CV. In case I need to use the knife and don't want people going "EEEK he brought a sword to a restaurant!" (I've had that told to me once with my Tenacious :p )

Don't carry the new Millie to work simply because I get all sorts of crud in my pockets, get damp, or chemicals on it, etc.... The vg10 is a little more hassle free, and I don't mind the Centofante getting gummed up from time to time. I would spend more time cleaning the Millie after every cut than I actually spent cutting something :P

For work I just grab one of four: small Sebenza, Umnumzaanm, Mnandi, or William Henry Lancet.

For other more polite crowds it's either the Mnandi or William Henry.

If I am going to use a knife, I'll carry a Buck bantam. Other wise my Kershaw clash or Kershaw blur.
