I made this one for my wifes uncle. It was my 1st try at hot bluing.. Things were looking great untill I sharpened it. The belt removed some of the bluing on the blade(I messed up on the angle) and attempts at a touch with cold blue were less than perfect.. The cold blue turned the edge a copper/blue color.. I wonder if I could protect the handle some how and re-hot blue the edge??? Oh well here it is.. O1 and Ironwood..

Louis, I don't have any advice on the hot blue situation, however, I really like the knife and sheath! NIce work! -Matt-

I would just call the copper blue color part of the blade finish. From the pictures it seems to look fine. Granted it would come off in sharpening, but so would the hot blue.

It looks good to me.:thumbup:

The cold bluing kind of adds a patina to it. If necessary, just hone the edge and the color will come off a bit. :)
