Hot tent in the snow, sleet and rain. Wet weather wood processing.

Great report. Thanks for sharing. Between this thread and Goose 52's, makes me want to try some winter camping again, but this time with a little stove and a tent (just a tarp before and 0 Fahrenheit).
The stove and tent would make a difference. What is the make of the stove, or did I miss it in the foregoing?

Doc

Kifaru. Thanks for looking. :)

Great trip report. A tipi/woodstove combo sure is a game-changer, isn't it? And I would agree - I would much rather be camping in sub-freezing temps than just above freezing.

Goose 52 - I also have the SO 6-man and the med. wood stove. I've been really happy with it.

Thanks WW! Inspires me to take some time and do the same thing. I have the same set up only a six man, same stove. If not backpacking I found my Two Dog stove fits like it was designed for it and it holds a fire considerable longer.

That's good to hear. I've been thinking about a 2-Dog to use for car camps, etc. when I'm not packing the stove on my back. Can you get away with using the stove pipe from your other stove, or did you have to buy a new pipe as well?

Just used the telescoping pipe that came with the Two Dog stove. A little tight going thru the opening in the tepee but nothing to be alarmed about. It is a sweet set up. Keeps a nice fire considerably longer than the Kifaru.

Looks like the 4-man Kafaru International tipi set up. Which size stove is that? What is your opinion of the smaller/larger sizes and the titanium oval stove? Do you miss a floor?

By the way, very nice set up for winter camping and thanks for posting.

I also have a 6-man and been looking at either the two dog or their Ti stove for some time.

That's a 4-man but also have a 6 and spent time in an 8. If I had to do it all over again I would get a Sawtooth and 8-man. Have played around with the oval stoves. They're UL for sure. TI goat makes one called the WiFi as well. Don't have enough experience with them to really say either way. I don't miss a floor in the slightest. Floors are more of a hindrance then help during winter camping IMHO.
