First post kinda new here. Is there a better choice in the $250 price range than the x5 spear point? There just so many knives out there. I know it's a personal choice,$ 250 is a big deal for me just looking for some seasoned advice. Thanks for your help.

Definitely personal choice like you said. Love my ex-01, Hogue makes a hell of a knife. There is just a little bit of mall ninja with those x5's to me.
Maybe a ZT 0456 or 0220.

Not a huge fan of the x5. However, Hogue knives fit in their price point. They are a bit more niche than other brands, but I'm not hearing any negative talk these days.
If you want one, buy it.

I had one (blue, 3.5", spearpoint) but just recently sold it. It was a nice knife. The F&F was top notch on it.

Have some insight/info for ya on them. Shoot me an e-mail at the below if you'd like:

I'm sending you an email too. Thanks!

I would buy a lot of other knives for that price
Zt 566
Zt 562 cf
Reate Horizon
Dpx hest
Zt 452cf
Para 2
Military
Manix xl
Emerson
Protech, you have so many choices, I personally wouldnt buy an x5

If I had that much Id go Benchmade 908bk-1501, ZT 0452cf, or Benchmade 940-1

I bought the Hogue EX02 in spearpoint a long time ago, and I can honestly say that I've never received a DULLER factory edge. It felt like a butter knife to me...but like I said, that was quite awhile ago. Perhaps they have improved since then?
I would highly recommend the ZT 0562 with the g10 handles. Exactly on price and my personal favorite for EDC.

I have a pair of EX01's. They are well-built knives. I wouldn't have any problem buying an EX05 if the styling appealed to me.
