Hotwax Leather

Nice tutorial !

I think it cannot be understated that if anyone tries this that hasnt done it before , keep an eye on your leather if you choose to use an oven to heat it. You burn it and it's game over.

I also prefer a hair dryer but will use my oven as well.

Great how-to. I am a big fan of beeswax treetment. I just dunk it in a crock pot, but looks like your way works well too. I got 4 or 5 pounds of wax from a local bee-keeper that I use. I like how the sheaths smell afterward.

You can get beeswax at any craft store, or even a hardware store. + It's what toilet wax plugs are made of.

Be careful with using toilot rings. The new rings are not made from bees wax, they are made up from a bunch of chemicals that I can't even begin to say. Call the number on the packaging for information.

Hey, thanks for the great tutorial. I have a question though, would this process work with something like candle wax or some leather waterproofing wax(I have some from Nikwax)? I have a leather gauntlet/vambrace i want to try this on.

I'd stick to double boiler for parrafin wax, less chance of a fire
