House Handle Company: Good People

I just wanted to take a moment to let everyone know about something that is getting harder and harder to find: a good local company with excellent products and customer service.

Long story short, I got an order from House Handle that was a bit off. I contacted them, and Chris House himself called me on the phone to make sure we straightened everything out. He apologized, carefully took down my newest order, and replaced a couple of items without asking for me to send the others back.

All in all, a very pleasant and increasingly rare interaction.
 
Yup. Good company. Last 4 orders have been good. No complaints. But then I'm not as picky about handles as I used to be.

I remember, though, when I was the only one using octagonal handles. :D
 
I just orderd a bunch of handles from them. I was just tired of what was available here in stores. I can be a bit picky so we will see how it goes.
All hand select, no laquer. Some octagon. Last time I shaved one down I had two hours in it, they charge a 1.50. Not sure when they will get here but its going to be like christmas for me.
 
I wrote them at one point asking if they had the ability to make scythe snaths and got a direct response from Chris explaining that he'd love to but doesn't have steam bending equipment big enough. I was very impressed with his timely and cordial response to my inquiry. Strikes me as a great guy. :)

i need handles, been planning to drive down to Cassvile to have a look see and pick up some handles , but time has not been right
 
Two weeks ago I received the wrong hoe handle from House and informed them right away. To date they have taken no action to correct their error (which they admit to). I have sent 5 emails to them during this time. I have remained polite and courteous in all my messages to them. However I'm getting rather frustrated now with their lack of response and I'm considering seeking a refund through my credit card company.

I don't understand why they're having this problem and they wont explain it to me. They just say that somebody will contact me but no one does. They've always given me reliable service in the past. This was a simple error - easy to correct. My opinion of House Handle has slipped a notch.
 
After exchanging a few more emails and finally a phone call I worked this out with House Handle. They sent me a new handle and it still doesn't have the right bore but at least it's thick enough that I can drill it for the right bore. They were stalling because they weren't sure that what I had ordered was going to be the right product for me. I'm still not sure because I never got the one I ordered. But I got something that will work and it's a high quality handle and I'm satisfied.

This was part of my 3rd order with House and I won't hesitate to order from them again.
