House handle is swamped!

I placed an order on the 1st for a 36'' octagon Double bit, and a Cruiser. both AA. they were waiting for me when I got home. this my 5th time doing bidness with them, and I am always pleased.

I ordered four 30" octagons from House last Wednesday. I received them today, exactly one week after being ordered.

I ordered Grade AA and didn't pay to have them hand selected. Three of them have good grain alignments and one isn't as good. Two of them are very straight and two of them have some bow in them. The octagoning isn't as precise as I'd like but I figured on that going in since I've ordered from them before.

I've just finished cleaning one up. I removed the factory lacquer in the process of straightening the octagoning. I'm going to try to straighten the bow in this one by hanging some weight on it while soaking it with BLO for a few days. I'll report back.

You would do much better with heat and a clamp. Try to heat it all the way through without burning it. Clamp it a little past what you want and let it cool. I will leave mine clamped over night. Heat is what you need. Stays much better and is easier. It will move real easy when it is hot enough.

On March 6, I ordered two handles for a Boy Scout hatchet that I received from a neighbor as a gift. Received the two handles today, March 9.

Pretty doggone good service!

Thanks, House Handle . . .

It took me around 7 weeks to get mine, but the were specialty orders.
