House Of The Dragon 08/21/2022

They've already moved up the timeline in Episode 6 of the HotD.

10 years have past and new actors are now playing Princess Rhaenyra, Queen Alicent and others.

Certain events have occured that will lead up to those that have already been predicted would happen after King Viserys passes, which may end up being shown much sooner than anticipated, perhaps even before this season ends.

yeah, they got rid of cute young Rhaenyra and replaced her with some chick that looks 42, King is old, yet Kings wife looks 25, maybe just a tad older than before. wtf is with that? Bring back hot Rhaenyra. She was like 23 in RL. Dragon storyline is good though. Pig kid needs to do a little late night creeping and teach the bullies a lesson.

Just watched Episode 8 of 10 of the House of the Dragon (HotD) and it looks like it's headed for the predicted civil war to end the season presumably to be continued next season.

HotD has turned out to be a much more "cerebal" show that I thought it would be.

A lot going on but you have to pay attention to which I didn't do upon 1st viewing. So, I'll wait until the final episode airs and then binge watch all 10 epsiodes to see how they go together and to see what I missed the 1st time around.

--------------------------------

I also just watched the final and 8th Episode of the Rings of Power (RoP) and I have to say that I found RoP much more entertaining to watch than the HotD.

Not a lot of "action" in RoP either and a lot of the "plot" that I still don't understand that will also require additional viewing but I'll eventually figure it out after doing more research on the show as explained by others who understand the books and story line better.

The only thing I know for sure is that Galadriel will not be hooking up with Halbrand. LOL! ;)

--------------------------------

SPOILER: If you want to read understand happens in the last episode of RoP read THIS.

It explains what hapens quite well and is good reading AFTER you've seen the episode. At least it was for me.

--------------------------------

Here's also a pretty good synopsis of what happened in Episode 8 of HotD. Again better to read it after than before you see the episode.

Just watched Epsiode 9 of 10 of "House of the Dragon" today.

The game is on!

The entire "confilct" could have ended with a single word -- "Dracarys" -- but I guess that would have been too easy.

At least now, hopefully, there will be some real ACTION in the show but that probably won't start "in earnest" until Season 2 begins. :(

Somehow I doubt anyone will be mourning the peons that got squished she she come up outta there. I guess getting croaked in the name of political intrigue is par for the course for normal people in these realms. I thought exactly the same thing, the entire problem could have been solved right there but that wouldn't leave much reason for a second season.

The dragons in GoT were more realistic than in HotD. I like my dragons to be realistic. Like real dragons.

Of course, you know there never were any "real dragons." LOL! ;)

I'd have to look back to see if the dragons on GoT looked "more realistic" than the ones on HotD but, upon 1st viewing, nothing about the dragons on HotD bothered me.

The only thing that confused me in the final episode was why Vhagar so much bigger than Arrax. It was explained to me that Vhagar was a much older dragon and Arrax was just a "pup" (like its rider) which made the final fight scene seem so unfair but it did set up the war to come.

Yep, that's the reason. The dragons keep growing as they age.
Arrax was born during or close to the timeframe of the show. Vhagar was born prior to (and fought in) Aegon's Conquest, which occured about 100 years before the beginning of the show.

Also to note, even dragons of the same age aren't always equal in size. In GoT, Drogon was notably larger than his siblings.

So what what you are saying is dragons are t real? 🥺…… I don’t want to know about Santa Clause or the Easter Bunny…… lol!

Neither Santa Claus nor the Easter Bunny are depicted in the artworks of ancient civilizations from Wales to China. But prehistoric mankind has always remembered the dragons.

Looks like a Pterodactyl which isn't a "dragon."
I dunno, I wasn't born yet. Maybe yes, maybe no. I haven't actually seen either. But somebody did, someone from every major old culture on the earth.

Pleasantly surprised with House of the Dragon, but it might just appear decent by comparison because everything else is just that bad these days.

My usual rule of thumb, if it was filmed after 2015 I don't watch it. The forced diversity and heavy handed political agendas have become too much to bare. It's all so unnatural and distracts from my "willing suspension of disbelief".

Was so satisfied watching Netflix get wrecked.

I"ve just watched episode 6. Mother & child dying during attempted childbirth is beginning to be a habit.

It was not an infrequent occurrence in past centuries.

I liked the first season. It turned out to be better than I expected. Does anyone know when the 2nd season will be released?
