I am looking for someone in Houston to spend time with to learn the art of making knives. While I have read a ton about it, to me there is nothing like working with somebody who can show you the ropes. I would be grateful for any time that you might be willing to share with me.

Any more specific? Houston's bigger than Rhode Island, Israel, Luxembourg...

Good few of us around. There's Craig Wilkins, Mitch Wilkins (Don't know if they're related), Lee Oates, and also any number of us filling up TKS on a Saturday morning! Piles of fellows around. You might check into HABA, the Houston Area Blacksmith's Association, as well, as we have a few here and there that make knives. What are you looking to learn?

Best,

Darryl

I live close to 610 and 290 so I can go just about anywhere. I'm just getting started so I would like to learn the basics. I'll check out HABA and see what I come up with. Thank you for the suggestion.

The proverbial "let me clean my shop up first before you come over" message.

Actually, most anytime is good. Send me an email.
