How’d I do on this purchase?

Random screen grab of logo.
The Osborne logo can be this way, or missing the bottom text, Benchmade has changed it over time.

That said, op has pics where the writing looks just cut off. Weird, I would be careful if it's real. Even pawn shop price should have been higher.

Dude I've got $500 knives I've never inspected that closely. Your choices are to keep the cheap one because that's the only one at that price or buy a new one at full price. Just use it

Dude really? just trash talk?

Really hard to tell without seeing it in person, but I tend to believe it is the real deal. Fit and finish look too good to be a knockoff, and all the hardware appears to be correct. While the logos are sketchy, any knife that is used is going to have some amount of wear. And you don't know what the previous owner used to clean the blade. Some chemicals can lighten laser engraving pretty significantly in my experiences.

If I was a betting man, I'd say it's genuine and you got a good deal.

I hate to announce the obvious but the OP can just use the "report" at the bottom to ask a moderator to move this thread over to the Benchmade Subforum, where a Benchmade Rep will occasionally take a look at a photo and express an opinion on authenticity.
While I did note that lack of the patent words at the bottom of the Osborne logo, I do know sometimes such things wear off. And as another poster mentioned, there may have been a time period when BM didn't have those words there.
Personally since I don't see anything else to raise red flags I tend to think this is authentic. But best run it by the Benchmade subforum here.

Regarding the logo,.. The lighting made all my pics much lighter or washed out looking. I'm not positive, but I think the logo and other markings might be lighter that I would expect. I'm sure I'll be in a shop that sells Benchmade knives sometime soon. I'll report back with whatever I find. Thank you all for sharing your thoughts.

Thank you. I wasn't sure which forum to post this in. I'll ask a mod to move it.

OK let me see if I can get these pictures up. These are from when I got in the car.

I got a little discouraged when I noticed that the “termination plunge” or the top of the bevel looks a little wavy, as it runs from now heel to the tip.

Does it look like the edge has those factory grind marks to anyone? Of course anyone can grind perpendicular to the edge, but many of my factory nice to have all those lines.

Definitely a Benchmade edge. 😉 Appears to be brand new. All that matters is, are you happy with your purchase? Yes? Enjoy it buddy!
