How about a brush finished blade

I once saw a photo of the Mikov-Czech auto with a brush finished blade.

It's non-glare, would not trap moisture like bead blast, and should be cheaper and easier to do for a maker than a hand rubbed satin finish.

It could be easily maintained, polished if necessary (Flitz or whatever your choice is) without damage or cosmetic flaws.

Would this be solve the rust problem, and the additonal time and effort required to satin finish a blade?

Looks OK too, at least to my eye.

Yeah I'm crazy, but what do you want me to do about it
