How about a list of TSA compliant traditional knives?

are there any cases larger than the peanut that are legal.

I have a peanut and the small texas jack. There is only about .25 inch in the blade but the Small jack seems so much larger.

Edit: I actually dont even care about the blade size. What about a handle close to the size of the small jack with a TSA legal blade.

Peanut just feels really small when handling it.

The news just announced a postponment of this decision a few minutes ago.

Just what I thought. The pillow is on the face of this decision, it will die a quiet muffled death and nothing with come of it. No knives on planes is my bet.

From the LA Times:

A TSA spokesperson on Monday wrote in an email: "In order to accommodate further input from the Aviation Security Advisory Committee (ASAC), which includes representatives from the aviation community, passenger advocates, law enforcement experts and other stakeholders, TSA will temporarily delay implementation of changes to the Prohibited Items List, originally scheduled to go into effect April 25.

"This timing will enable TSA to incorporate the ASAC's feedback about the change to the Prohibited Items List and continue workforce training."

How about the smaller sodbusters made by Case, Rough Rider, Kissing Crane, etc?

The biggest drawback to that is what happens when you get an ignorant TSA agent who doesn't know the rules and decides to confiscate it?

I would hesitate to carry any knife that I couldn't easily replace without any difficulty or pain in the wallet.

I really doubt that I would test the system with one. Merely stating that it meets the published requirement.

Well....... That's a real bummer, but I never fly, still even at that, it was a step in the right direction, but it looks as if it's been derailed to my eye.

(Speaking purely hypothetically, now that it's essentially moot...)

The Case's blade is too long at ~7 cm (and it's too wide); max allowed under the proposed rule would've been 6 cm length. I don't think most other 'small' sodbusters would fit either; most are essentially the same size, and some are slightly larger.

FYI if TSA says you can't bring that item on the plane they MUST give you the option of either handing the item off to someone who isn't going with you on the flight or going through security, stepping out of line to place the item in your checked baggage or mailing the item home. Most airports have small kiosks where you can mail items. If they try to confiscate the item without giving you any alternatives or options, ask for a supervisor immediately.
