Hello Guyz & Galz,

I am sooo darn tired of doing the same old contests.. "you all pick a number and blaa, blaaa, blaaaa.."

But,, it is my turn to give away another knife..

And, since I won Grateful's last contest, and as he(the wise man that he is) says: paraphrased If'n you Get one, you Give one..
________________________________________________________________________________________________

OK THEN... This contest give-a-way knives are for these TWO here:

<> Top left, a Case XX made in the USA #62132 Baby Butterbean in TS-SS in jigged Charcoal Bone.

<> Bottom right, Case XX made in the USA #6220 Peanut in TS-SS in score-jigged Dark Navy Bone.

Both are old-new stock and I may still have the boxes. I will check before I ship them out to you!.

They are both unused and both knives are super users.

So, here you go(contest rules):

(1) The contest is comprised of one entry/post per member/user.

(2) Your post must have at least one photograph(more than one is fine too) submitted here in this thread with a description depicting the circumstances or scenes, you, your animals/pets, family and/or friends are in.

(3) The photo must have a traditional slipjoint pattern in it somewhere. Either a Production or Custom knife is fine.

(4) The photograph must be your own in some capacity. Meaning yours, or a family or friends member picture. The photo can be old or new.
______________________________________________________________________________________________

Here is an example,, but, by no means is this the only type of example. Just trying to set the theme or tone of the contest here:

My daughter just peeled this orange (and several others) that we found in an old grove next to the campsite. She used my Moore Maker Sowbelly during this cutting chore as well as whittling through a coconut to extract the milk and coconut meat in this recent camp/outing that we all went on..

Use your arsenal of fine photo's of your hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, canoeing, ATV'n, Snowmobiling,, hell, the skies the limit..

The drawing is, Saturday, March 1, 2008 And my wife and kids will vote on the most interesting post.

Nice idea SunnyD. That fire pit rocks too. And your daughter knows how to bank a nice fire. She'd win major points around my kids.

OK sunnyd,I'm in,but it is not much knife content, well it's a good one,but mainly,a walk with my dog Copper,a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix.

Out the back door we go,the nursery next door to my place is a nice view.

Approximately 800 ft or so behind my house,in the corner of the nursery & my property,a nice woodpile. It makes for a nice place to sit, whittle, and see some views & wildlife.Copper can't ease up for a picture, his nose is going wild, between the wood & pine & deer scent,a little rabbit mixed in.
If you look close behind Coppers head, there is a Tony Bose knife that took the walk with me today.Man's best friend, his dog & his best tools, too
This woodpile is a whittlin' fella's dream hide out Copper's got himself a custom made Paul Long Dog Collar on,too, nothin' but the best, for my Dog

Finally, off the property,on to the next piece,a commercial vinyard, all clipped up in Febuary.Nice sky as the sun gets lower

Not much, but it all took place a few hrs ago, lol, and in a beatiful spot on Long Island NY

I have always been a collector of anything antique and outdoor related. This is a display of a 11.75" bluegill from the Wilfred area and some Paw Paw Frog Lures along with my EDC.

Swimming with the fish ;).. Come on spring!!

Your picture with your daughter reminded me of this picture from a few years back..I try to spend as much time outdoors with my girls as I can...

This is the best I've got right now. I'll have to take some more when I can and add to my post. I'm not a big photographer and the fact that this one turned out was a pretty big fluke. Anyway I love it, so I thought I would share it again. These were taken the same day just before Thanksgiving. A buddy and I hit the Little Red River for what ended up being one of my best days ever on the river. All catch and release that day, so no fish were harmed in the making of this post;) The knife in the pic is a Jerry McDonald Trout and Bird. If I'm in the water its on my hip!
P1010070.jpg

Nice black SAK classic hanging from my lanyard! Looks tiny underneath that big 'ol brown trout doesn't it:D:D:D That SAK is a flyfishing essential!!
P1010078_2.jpg

My daughter has been into whittling lately. We sat out on the back porch today and I whittled this small boat for her. It actually floats upright:D

This is the only pic I have access to here at work. I have some more at home I'll post later.

Rapid River Skinner, made in Michigans UP. A2, Convex ground with secondary bevel. Lamanated handle w/brass guard.
Parker Edwards Mini Trapper w/stainless blades and bone scales. 1987.

Thanks much for the opportunity sunnyd.

Chris

EDIT: Found another pic or two worth sharing.

This is a pic of a Wood Rat that found our campsite in West Virginia facinating.

This pic was taken behing where I work. It was part of what looks like an old table saw. The property behind the office is 200+ acres that used to be part of a prison farm. For some reason I just think its a cool pic that turned out pretty good for my limited photography skills.

None of my recent favorites have knives in them, but we've been training a coon dog pup, and we got some pretty good dog pictures.

I am pretty much stuck at home except to go to physio right now so here is to reminiscing. This is a little valley just outside of Edmonton that we have taken as our own hide out spot. This was the first time that we took our daughter with us.
I ususally carry the double bit axe, Spyderco Centofante 4 and the Canoe with me on our little excursions here, for some reason the long fine wharncliffe and short stout canoe blades seem to be very complimentary to each other.

Cool pics Kris. I'd be lying if I said I didn't like my Centofante 3. Don't have a 4 yet but its on the list (what isn't on the list? :p) .

Hope you're back on your feet soon.

For my entry, I will choose something a bit abstract. I call it Old Dog in a Hotel;) I'm pretty sure there is a pocket knife or two in the suitcase. :D

Super responses all you fellow's.. The pictures really make the thread!. So much so, that I believe y'all have inspired me to dig into the photo archives a bit more and a little further back.:p;)

Anyway, thanks one & all thus far, and please keep'm coming!

Cool contest, I like this contest concept. Ok, so for my entry, since this is a traditional knife forum, I have some pictures of my Case in action. And since I just love fishing, I'll through in some of those. A description will precede each photo.
P.S. sorry for submitting so many photos, I just really like photography, and some of the pictures that others have posted are just amazing.

This is my Small Texas Jack with the slingshot it made. I was inspired to try and make one by our very own Mr. Jackknife. It came out pretty good actually.

This is the same Case with the little canoe it made from a twig.

And here is just a vanity shot with it's pocket companion, Mr. Zippo.

Now for some fishing pictures.

Here is my Dad's fishing buddy with a very nice catch. It was a productive day with that size being the average.

Oh, and here is one more photo of my fishing knife, which I've posted before.

The photographs here in this thread so far have been just wonderful. You all really posted some super interesting pictures. I am delighted that you included your family, friends and pets in alot of these shots as it really gives me some great insight on y'all and life in your neck of the woods..

I mighta done screwed up though, in that it is going to be an absolute chore on which member/user to choose in the end because they are all so cool in they're own right!. I am glad that chore will fall into my family's lap.

To member/users who haven't submitted your photo's yet, you still have some time so bring 'em on..:)

No Knives so not really according to the rules. This spider lived outside my window last year. Each night just before sunset in September and October he came down to his web for dinner....fascinating. Eventually the weather got too cold and the web was washed away with the rain.

I grew this R0se in my little dirt strip last year. Looks like velvet.

I don't know what this one is called but I found it on a country road in France. It look like it has a light shining from within. Next, a large rose from a monestary garden in France

Great pictures...Very nice...It sure is nice to see the variation of how we live and what we run across in this adventure called life..SK that mystery flower looks like a "Morning Glory" to me...

Well Anthony, I hesitate to even enter your contest because if I should happen to win, I'm afraid people will think you and Grateful and I are in cahoots. But I will enter because I know we're not and I really like both of the knives you're giving away. That Baby Butterbean is my new favorite pattern and Jim was just saying the other day he wanted a blue knife. (now that doesn't necesarily mean I'll give it to him, you understand.) So here goes.

I have two photos. We'll call them "still-lifes." The guy I bought the little Merrimac knife from called it a "gentleman's" knife, but I beg to differ. Looks like a "ladies" knife if I ever saw one.
And to prove it, I matched it with a few of my favorite things. The string of pearls my mother gave me on the day I married Jim are entwined around a bottle of my favorite perfume. They are all resting on the black velvet evening bag I carried to my Senior Prom in 19 cough, cough, and in the background the pearled bag I carried on my wedding day.

Now I'd be willing to bet you've not seen a knife photo quite like these before. Hope you like them.
