Reflecting upon the WWIII project, I came to a sudden realization - that although many of us in the dark recesses of our hearts had secretly (and not so secretly) wished for a khukuri that drew from both the time-honored tradition of the Nepalese and the modern materials of the US market.

Well, I think it was Marcus that pushed the discussion into the limelight here, and, well, basically got this whole thing started. Of course, you all added so much to the evolution of the idea of the WWIII, that I am grateful to you all. But I think Marcus rates a special salute!

(Of course, if I am wrong about the origin, my apologies, and I hope to be corrected).

It was Marcus, who suggested a WW blade, micarta grips and kydex sheath, with a dark finished blade. Pretty much the whole project in a nutshell, with a little fine tuning. Many thanks to Marcus for an idea whose time has clearly come!!

I think Tallwingedgoat deserves a lot of the credit. He mentioned the concept in another thread and got me thinking about it again,I just took the next step and started a thread for it. It`s really been a great group effort with input from lots of people making it all take shape. I`m just glad it`s coming to fruition so I can get my mitts on one!

Marcus and TWG - Thanks to you both for opening that old, creaky door where my imagination had been locked away. Been a while.....

Craig - Thanks for giving us a chance to play with our ideas and see them take a solid form.
