How about a small'ish Becker?

I really liked the BK11 (Becker/Necker), but the handle's too short, IMHO. In fact, something with a slightly longer handle, but the same blade would work. I believe BK11's blade is 3.25, so that would work.

I still think something in between the BK11 & BK2/10 would be very popular. Of course, for all we know, maybe something like that is being tested as we speak?

yea it is pretty short but I have smallish hands so it fits good, and I can only imagine how it will feel with the micarta (if they ever come!)
something between the 11 and 2 would probably sell really good.

+1...

My fledgling knife collection has revolved around Ethan's offerings, and I am very satisfied. I agree wholeheartedly with other posters that a 4 to 4.5 inch fixed blade (full flat grind) and kydex sheath would really rock. 1095 steel, of course with good belly for slicing, etc. Paracord wrap works for me. If this could be delivered for a bit less than the other brands are willing to offer, I can envision the lines forming.....especially from Ethan's loyal followers. An EDC/survival/buschcraft crossover for the common consumer.

I see it more as a stretched out necker with a full tang like the larger knives. I have put paracord on my BK2 to replace the stock scales and enjoy the look and feel, so the paracord wrap is O.K. in my book to cut costs. Although the bushcraft/mora knives function well with a skinnier blade, I like the proportions and sturdiness of a taller blade. This also allows for thicker stock while maintaining a nice taper to the edge. I see the thickness somewhere between the necker and a BK7. O.K. enough of my rambling. What would other users like to see in this 'middle of the road' option???

you bet except make it 1/8, puuko's and kepharts are for woodcraft and meat/food. Make it a slicer not a minichopper/batoner. We already have a stout little workhorse in the necker.

I understand your desire for a thinner blade, however, I think that many Becker followers appreciate the 'workhorse' quality of his line of knives. I don't mean to say that the qualities you describe are any less desirable. Mainly it boils down to wanting more knives to collect and enjoy, so to that end, I hope there are more choices in the future!

A Becker fallin between the BK-11 and the BK-2 would be a great option. I tend towrds my RC-3 or RC-4 most of the time, just finiding the BK-2 and BK-7 a little heavy handed for day trips out to the bush. Not knockin either one, but a smaller version of the BK-2 would fit nicely in the daytripper role. :) I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
