How about a word of praise for Knifeforums

Amen, brother. I was having withdrawals, and they were more than friendly. Polite and helpful. They have different interface, but it was enjoyable. My hat is off to them.

Yep, I want to thank James and his whole crew over there. I didn't post over there, (couldn't remember my password) but I did check in there to see what was happening. I have nothing but good things to say about KFC or CKD. There's anotherr forum that isn't worth mentioning.

yes, thank you to knifeforums during the downtime. Actually, I would visit KF more often, but don't because the the site-interface. I find this format easier on the eyes. HOWEVER, the pple there and here are all great!!!

I totally agree with Klesk! I'm actually a member of BF, KF, USN, microholics, spydercoforum and I enjoy all of them.

I belong to both and several others too. We're all one big family like it or not.Don't fight with your sister Billy! Anyhow You're always welcome over at KF.Variety IS the spice of life.tom. :)

A nice place, knifeforums.

If they only could change their "forum engine". It´s too slow and my eyes get tired, fast. :)

I was waiting to respond to this thread until I could give a full report. I not only hung out at KFC during the outtage, but I was one of 5 winners of the "Welcome BFC" giveaway that James Nowka sponsored. Boy do I feel welcome!

I just recieved my new Bark River K&T Mountaineer II prototype. It's a fine piece. Sandvick steel that I first thought was flat-ground, come to find out it is convex ground. Heavy full tang construction with a small half-guard, sharpened down to a razor edge with no visible grind lines. Very sweet. Mine is African Black Wood, with beautiful silver mosaic pins. Nice natural finsh leather pouch with natural stiching.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it. On the one hand it is a real collector's piece, as a prototype. On the other hand, it is clearly a real working knife that just begs to be bloodied by a nice whitetail. I'm not a hunter, but this is a knife that would be the envy of deer camp, could gut your bag limit year after year and then get handed down to your kid.

Thanks to Mike Stewart at BRKT and James Nowka for a great knife and a great contest !
