how about best restaurant chain hamburgers?

I was persuaded to go into a macdonalds last night. I has a double cheeseburger. Tasteless slop that left me feeling hungrier than before :grumpy:

That was after seeing Hanoi Rocks. Great live band, go and see them if they play near you! :D

Sorry I can't post a more positive burger review but I have only eaten fast food twice this year, mcd's both times.

i feel like a complete fatass afterwards but the double double.....and u have to get fries and a chocolate shake too

I really like In- Out Burger, in Las Vegas. Very good, cooked to order, fresh meat, good shakes, etc.

My brother's girlfriend runs a Red Robin in Kentucky, but I have yet to go there. Of the chains I have eaten in, the best are probably the aforementioned In N' Out, Fatburger and Steak and Shake. Steak and Shake has the best overall menu of the three. In N' Out may have the best burgers of the bunch, but their fries are kinda sorry. As much as I like to bust on California, they do have a way with artery clogging fast food out there in Lotus Land. The Midwest and the Southwest are tied for close second for producing decent grub that will kill you. Wendy's is far and away the best of the mega-chains. There are some good chains out of Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, etc. like Whataburger, Sonic, Taco Bueno, and a few others. The Southeast really hasn't produced anything worth mentioning other than fried chicken joints like KFC, Popeyes and Bojangles and speciality places like Pollo Tropical and ALL of those places ain't what the once were. Burger King was never that great, but they didn't have any competition for years until Wendys and STeak and Shake showed up down here.

Sonics are good but you have to get the belt stretcher. Best is a local 275 store chain called Braums Ice Cream Store. Good hamburgers with no after taste and their Ice Cream shakes or malts are made to your order. Mike

Echh, McDonald's is definitely the "last chance" choice. BTW McDonald's in the UK tastes noticeably different that McDonald's in the U.S. But I'm sure you'll be comforted to know they both taste lousy.

IMO, Braums may be the best "budget" supermarket half-gallon box ice cream on the planet. A big honkin cone there cost under $2 and is about as good as the $4 mall stuff. Their food is good as I recall, but I go their for the cold stuff:D

Actually, it is a little comforting to know we aren't being unduly victimised!
