How About some Buyer Input

I'd LOVE to own one, when you decide to do another, give me a yell. My Father was from the Hudsons Bay, I think I should have one for that reason. ;-))

I don't post much and I don't claim to know much about nothing but I have watched every video you have posted and admire your work tremendously. You are a master at your art, I don't own any of your pieces (yet) but hell, I don't own the Mona Lisa either and I know thats art!
I think the only quote you need to remember is the one stated by a very smart man on the 8th day of May, 2009,
"Ain't nuthin in life free no more kid's work like your killin snake's and grab the bull by the horn's and go for the GUSTO of life."

Respectfuly,
Dan

That's gonna be on a tablet or a daily planner one of these day's

I think you opening a boutique for lady drivers would be a bad idea.....instead I would go with your gut instinct.

there's a general idea of the ulu-on-a-stick. I think I'd ditch the hole in the handle and maybe cut the width of the bit down a little, but you get the general idea. Good multipurpose survival and bush tool.

Steve,
What ever you decide to do. I wish you all the Best !

If we are talking along the lines of mass prodction.... I personally would rather have a hawk that I know was made by you. A hawk that I knew was in your hands and seen by your eyes. That is why I buy handmade hawks/knives. I know that the maker I respect and trust has touched it and it has lived up to their expectation of quality. BUT if it means a better income, you have to do what works for you. I cherish my two Coal Creek Hawks, and I just don't think the feeling would be the same if I wasn't sure that you were the one making it.

Either way, Steve, you make some damn fine hawks. I'm very interested to see what you have in mind.

First off I like to lurk a lot.

Due to buying a house and gradually fixing it up the way I want it, getting a small promotion at work (meaning more work), and trying to set up a shop so that I can have some fun myself, I am not much of a purchaser.

But I agree with everything that has been said.

Let me add that I think that you should have some fun with your work.
Invent stuff or take a style and do your interpretation of it.
Then use those pictures to make everyone drool.

I love looking at other people's "different" stuff. How many people own 4-5 different "bushcraft" style knives from 4-5 makers? They all do the "same thing" but differently.
Same with hawks, war-clubs, war-hammers, spontoon hawks, and double ended spike things that are too nice to use digging around in the garden.
Make them your own style and post pictures.

I want a shop so that I can go out there and fiddle fart around and perhaps make stuff that pays for my machines. If I pull a profit that only means that I can turn that over back into my shop.
I am envious of guys who have shops and who get to spend time in them.
But if they aren't having fun, if they have turned a hobby into a job and made that job nothing but work, well then I am not so envious.

Go and have some fun with what you are doing and get creative. I bet you will surprise yourself.

Found 1 for ya,this 1 belong's to Joe Paranee from Bethlehem Pa.

That is what I am talkin bout Mister Steve.Once again what you do with metal amazes me.There aint no micarta, liner lock, plastic,or radical design.Just good ol fashioned wood and forged steel.Simple ,nostalgic design yet very impressive to me.When I say simple I meen it as a compliment.A lady saw my hi viz shirt we gotta wear at work while I was at smkw lookin at wetterling axes and whupped some martian lookin hawk with same color on the handle as my shirt. She said here is what you need needless to say I declined.I didn't even look to see who manufactured it.

Isn't that ax a masterpiece??? And, he looked a pic of an original on Ebay and a week later this was born of his forge and skill. I'm saving my pennies for one of these beautys.

Steve, I just received your War Tomahawk with skull buster (see the photos in the thread of a week or so ago). Magua (of Last of the Mohicans fame) eat your heart out. With this hawk in my hands you wouldn't stand a chance against me. This is one unique hawk. Forget about what everyone else has told you. Make more of these. If I haven't made myself clear - I love it. PS. Err, just in case Magua is still around, please don't mention this post to him.
