How about THIS Gladius Sheath!?

I would show my first leather sheath, but it would make people cry from laughing.

JDraizor has my 3rd attempt, and it is still crappy.

Whiskey River, let me again congratulate you for creating something with your own imagination and hard work.

Your actions are so much more commendable than destroying a fine piece of cutlery with a bullet.

I hope that your thread has more folks giving you credit and congratulations than the numbers posting in that silly .50 cal thread.

Guyon!

I'm not into destroying fine Busse INFI.... I love the Busse knives and look forward to making more leather goods to house them!

Thanks again for the kind words.... you and everyone else! It's a nice bit of encouragement!

It's truly a great sheath and does not strike me as a first effort in the least. One of these days, when I get the workshop space, I may be picking your brain.

I think the hardest part of leather work, if you are willing to put in the time to learn all the steps, is the stitching. Hand stitching looks super... and machine stitching looks good, but takes way less time to do. Mine is machine stitched.... the big drawback to making your own by hand is it is NOT easy to hand stitch and have them come out nice.... unless you have made a LOT of things. I tried making a flashlight case by hand stitching and had a terrible time of it. Some guys are great at hand stitching, like Chuck (Chuddy Bear) and Dwayne (Amoralleather). So... if you dont want to hand stitch.. do what i did and pony up about $3200-$3300-- on a stitching machine! Ouch!!

I hope to get that investment back in sales some day! :D

P.S. I practiced and practiced and more practice on LOTs of leather pieces, until I was happy with my sewing, before trying to finish this beauty off! Leather work is fun... but can also cost you fits! ha ha

Oh man, that is nice! I never would have guessed that was your first one.:thumbup:

Beautiful sheath man and i'm sure it was no small task. Being it is for the Gladius which is a very large blade to begin with. Very well done congrats.:cool:

This is a really sweet sheath!

Geee-here we go on the longing for a Gladius thing again!

Hello everyone,
I was lucky enough to to be the one to take this beautiful piece of work home, oh and the Gladius ain't bad either:)

Let me tell you the sheath is flawless, the work is truly amazing.

If this is his first finished work, I'm afraid to think of what he'll be capable of in a couple of years!

I give him my highest recommendation.

Get your orders in now, 'cause real soon he's likely to have a six-month waiting list.

As soon as I can I'm having a similar sheath made for my SwampRat Waki.
