Hello all,

Here's a 2003 quote from M. Martino I found at http://www.himalayan-imports.com/BirGorkha.htm

"A caring and generous forumite who may identify himself if he so chooses sent $100 to BirGorkha to throw a party for the kamis. The pix (if you can see them well enough) show the results. The kamis chose to take off Jan. 1 and start the new year (ours not theirs) off right. 46 people were fed including a few homeless men and a couple of orphans who were standing around watching with mouths watering.
A huge thanks from kamis and hungry homeless.

I've also just read 2013 is the 25th anniversary of HI.

as it is, something I suggest everyone do , anytime you order, especially a blem or a knife you know you are getting below price, remember that is the profits that help keep HI flowing and growing, so donate a little with every order, just round up give 5 bucks, whatever you can whenever you can, that said I am always down to give to HI and the kami.

I'm going to send some money as soon as I can. This is awesome. They deserve it, they work hard as hell. I loved reading about them on the HI page about how they all smoke and talk rubbish to each other, sounds just like me when I'm laying carpets haha. Let's give them a nice Christmas for all of the hard work they've done this year!
 
also request knitted goods whenever you can, they are made by the wives and the children of the kami and the profits go directly to them!

just gave two pairs of gloves and booties to my nephew and sister made by raj kumars wife ! they loved them!

and yeah as said before, donate with any order especially dotd or blems.
 
I'm in too without question. I'll try to send some loot tomorrow or maybe later today.
 
I'm in for something. I maxed out around the Dashain festival but I'm sure there is more I can spare somewhere :D
 
Yeah Ted, just send her a paypal like you would normally but make a note that it's for a donation.
 
Might be slow, but still not sure how to access the PayPal link, the one above just opened up my email. This is a wonderful idea by the way.
