i ordered a rodent solution on christmas day and am now sitting at 5 1/2 week so i was wondering if the delay was normal or if i should be worried.

Don't worry sometimes when they are swamped (like over the holidays) it takes a bit longer. Estimated times are just that.....estimated.

I have 2 Rodent solutions they are well worth it.

Lately 8-10 weeks is a more accurate estimate. You will forget about the wait once it arrives.

It took about 13 to 14 weeks for my Kill Devil Sniper Hawk. I really wish they would be a little more accurate with their times. That is almost 3 to 4 times longer than expected.

I was just told today that my rodent 9 should take close to 5 weeks. I really hope this is accurate they shouldnt say it if it isnt. Who is ordering sheathless expensive knives over in the military. The military issues bang for your buck kabars and ontarios not busse kin. is it individuals inthe deseart or at home? Or mass orders for whole brigades? I just dont get when they use that excuse for slow build times. It doesnt make sense that the military is swamping them with orders. Hire more people we pay good money for a service and the custumers should get priority . The ones keeping you in business. Just my opinion.

Normally is just certain groups that order knives. I agree that a pre paid customer should not be put on hold for a goverment order that comes in after you have already placed your order, but the fact of the matter is it happens. Not just in knives but in everything. I work for a very large cable company right near a HUGE Air Force base and Thursday my whole route was pulled and rescheduled so I could go to the base to do some work for them. That is 6 people expecting to have there cable, internet, and phone service turned on that day that had to wait because I had to go to the base. It happens, sure it stinks but it happens. Here is the honest truth of it the goverment pays more than an normal joe can or will period thats the end of it, so when you place an order for a knife then the goverment places and order for 100 who do you think they are going to work on. Try to look at it from a business stand point instead of just a customer stand point it really does make it a bit easier to understand.

Actually, a good business would finish up current orders, then take the large contract and either reject or inform future customers that wait times are prolonged. You don't treat your customers like roadside %@^# just because someone else can pay more. If I'm standing behind you in line at McDonald's and you're getting one burger and I'm getting 20, do you think I should get served first? I didn't think so.

My ratmandu shipped in 3 weeks but I ordered a Kill Devil Sniper hawk on October 17th and it's just now getting ready to ship.

When I worked in the food service industry, customers who made known large orders would indeed be bumped to the front of the line if there was insufficient staff to accommodate them separately. Most often, however, such customers gave days or weeks forewarning of an impending large order with estimated volume size so that, on the day the order did arrive, the company would have already mobilized (increased staff and supplies, etc.) to maximize efficiency in completing the order. I do not know what the Swamp's capabilities are in this regard but, to my understanding, they do not have access to enormous production facilities and do not out-source to other companies. A large order with a strict delivery time constraints may very easily impact their other customers, and losing the business of one or two customers can easily be out-weighed by the risk of losing a large production contract.

But I agree, it would be nice to receive updates from the Swamp regarding expected delivery times, etc. That's why I'll sometimes harass the Busse girls who can help expedite responses. One can only wait so long... ;)

My RMD was within that range, not exactly sure because as soon as I ordered I stopped watching the clock. Worth the wait!

There not risking losing a couple but many custumers. The custumers that keep them in business. This forum and us users/collecters are the reason swamprat is in business.

And besides the government orders cheap quantity blades like kabars. not expensive knives with no sheaths. The military does not issue swamprats. The government is placing giant orders and they take priority over the customers who are the reason the company exist? go read suurvives knives website and it will show you what customer appreciation is.

Placed an order for a KDSH on Oct 23, just got the email today confirming that its shipping! I did buy one of Jared Cory's hawks (Omnivore Bladeworks) and a Winkler belt knife to fuel my addiction during the wait. That being said I won't enjoy the KDSH any less than if it had shipped in a week.

Ordered mine the 24th, got my notice today with tracking.

Let go of my expectations? All I want is alittle custumer appreciation and honest accurate info. And to know that me the custumer who is the reason swamprat exists is a priority. I dont think Im expecting too much.

I would imagine it can't be good for business.
An update would help a lot.
That said, great knives.
