I've been away for a while working on other projects, but I'm back.

So, the LeafStorm is finally out and I've been interested since the concept.

How do you like them, I'm thinking of adding one to my EDC rotation with my Caly3 CF.

Thanks,

Jim

For me, it's okay, a bit pricey. I would never rotate out my Caly 3 for the LeafStorm. For the price, I'd get another Carbon Fiber Caly 3. Just my opinion.

I like mine, I'd say the caly would be a better knife in terms of utility, but that leaf is just a knife I want to own, could never give it up.

I like mine. It's small, funky and different.

Nice comparison pic Gary007. Tried comparing LeafStorm with my Caly3...two completely different knives.

I can't get over the difference in scale thickness. It destroys my sense of symmetry.

The Caly 3 is such a better design. Smooth lines and curves, awesome finger choil, full flat grind blade, it's just beautiful. The Leafstorm has the ugliest handle design I've seen

I wouldn't say the Caly 3 is a better design...it definately is a different design.

My first Spyderco in a long time is a VG10 Caly 3 and I thought it was ugly and swoopy compared to all my other knives. I've gotten used to it now.

Someone's beauty is someone elses ugly.

Lycosa, looky what I got today.:p
It's small and weird, yet buttery smooth and solid.:D

The only reason anyone would design the handle like that is they want your finger to slip and get cut.

This knife is sort of like the T-Mag in the sense that when you're using it, you need to have a heightened awareness of what you're doing.

And FWIW, it's a gentlemen's folder, so it's not like you're going to be hacking through materials with it.

If you're used to the loss of blade edge due to a "finger choil", maybe, but most people are used to keeping their fingers BEHIND the blade pivot.

The Leafstorm is a small, three finger knife for most uses. If one finds it neccessary to "choke up", use the common hold of grabbing the pivot fastener with the thumb and index finger, thereby negating cuts.

All they had to do was make that part of the handle flat and it would be better IMO. Why on earth would you make it angled upwards?

Despite my bitching, I just ordered one from knifeworks. I think I was trying to convince myself to save my money, but I failed

The Leafstorm makes a decent small knife.

I use mine in the "office" rotation and it has gotten some compliments and no "eee, a knife" reactions yet - though I avoid certain types of people.
