How are those LeafStorms

Looks like it would be popular with the drug crowd for chopping up their powder.
 
Well, I agree with Mongo. The lack of a finger choil, even a faux choil like the Salt/Delica series, really gives me pause for concern. Just the possibility of my finger easily slipping forward on a sharp blade freaks me out.

I'll pass on the Leafstorm.
 
I had a T-Mag and a Leafstorm and sold them both and bought a Caly 3. I'm happier now.

The Leafstorm looks different and has a cool factor that is different than most Spydies, but lacks the utility that makes Spydies so great.
 
Well guys, received my Leafstorm today. Man I was pleased. :thumbup: No oil bath, just a tiny drop on the blade. This thing opens smoothly, no blade play vertical or horizontal. It is centered spot on, could not be better.

The ergos are not 100% but with my huge hands, I am almost 2 meters tall, I can think of 3 different ways to hold this baby. 4 fingers, 3 fingers are no problem at all. Very solid and build like a little tank.

One thing, the lockup is about 50%, so half way down on the blade. Is this good or bad or just totally normal???

It's a great looking knife :D

But, right now, it's a little pricey for me at this moment.

Stick with my Caly 3 CF for now ;)
 
It's entertaining to read how LeafStorms are compared to other Spyderco knives. The Leafstorm doesn't have a finger choil because it was not designed by Spyderco. I wonder how us knife users managed to hold our knives before Spyderco and Strider made the finger choil popular.

It has been described as small/cute/funky/wierd/euro look/cool/etc.

It is not tacticool or black or suitable for batoning or beloved by mall ninjas.

IT IS a well built sub 3 in small pocket knife with a different "out of the box look". That's it, end of story.
 
I asked Kevin Wilkins to make me a 3.4" chisel grind LeafStorm. :D
Different strokes for different folks. :D Just curious, are you having it done for show (the way most chisel grind folding knives are ground), or for go (the way chisel grind Japanese chefs knives are ground)?
