Hello Bladeforums.
I'm looking to sell more volume, and I need to figure out what the preferred methods to transfer money into your accounts are?
I am hesitant to go with Paypal, because they clearly do not want knives sold or purchased with their system.
What are the most popular digital cash payments in your experience?
Am I wrong with Paypal?
My kids and wife say, Venmo and Cashapp.
Thanks for any help.
Gene

I am hesitant to go with Paypal, because they clearly do not want knives sold or purchased with their system.

In my opinion, this is a myth, fueled by experiences from people who violated the terms of service in some way, got caught and censured, and then assumed it was due to knives, rather than actually studying the situation and reviewing the terms of service.

I don't sell knives but have heard from more than one source to stay away from cashapp. I like Zelle but that may not fit your business needs, although, my daughter uses it to receive pay for her lawn service.

Too many horror stories of PayPal seizing funds... I've used Wave online invoicing and shopify for years and it has worked really well. Shopify now also offers some protection for sellers too against any charge backs (shopify covers the cost as long as you ship with tracking within a certain amount of time)

Paypal and checks.

I have used Paypal for 10+ years and have never had a problem. I always keep a substantial sum of money in the account, and I use it for purchases, too.
I don't let people send money "Friends and family," as that's a sure way to get sideways. I consider the Paypal charges a cost of doing business, and my invoices state as much.

Personal checks are easy to deposit with my phone.

I've used PayPal for years as well, and have a business account and debit card through them. I've never had a problem. Initially there was a delay for funds paid through my website, but now it's instant. I use WooCommerce for the rest of my payments through my website. Normally there's a 2 to 3 day delay or so from when a purchase is made to when it's in my bank account.
Woo isn't bad, but it's not great. I kind of wish I'd had gone with Shopify, though maybe they have some of the same problems... who knows. At the end of the day, the fees aren't terrible, and I do get paid.

I use Paypal and only had one problem, which was not related to the knife being sold, more so because the buyer is involved in gun customization and modifications. Money orders also work well, just take a little more time.

I use a PayPal business account or process credit cards through Wave. Works well for me, but to be fair I also do really low volume. I've never had a problem with PayPal personally.

Lots of good info here guys. For my mileage, I've been taking payments through PP G&S for some years now without hassle, though not through a website yet.

I have consistent issues with Paypal releasing funds, but still use them largely. I prefer Cashapp these days though.
Weirdly something in the last year that has happened is that PayPal has increased the amount of funds they allow me to immediately transfer now three times. It seems that using G&S, shipping same or next day, adding tracking in PayPal, and never having complaints from buyers will cause PayPal to increase your 'credit limit' as it were. Back in February they held funds over $2,500, but now they're letting me have $25,000 per month.

Thank you ALL. I opened a Paypal, Cashapp and I think I will get a card swiper a little ahead of the first major knife show I set up at, as well. I will also just take personal checks to the company, although it will slow the shipping. Again, great to be able to just ask a question and get some good feedback. We had gone back and forth with the paypal thing for about 3 weeks.
Thanks, Gene
God bless.

Square closed my account and kept my funds. I've never had an issue with PP. Before I began using PP on my website I checked and noticed most online knife retail sites used PP. I also have a separate card processor for my website.
