Looks like a great LOOKING knife... but how does it feel in hand??? The front "bolster" area looks a bit uncomfortable...

THANKS!

Just by looking at pictures I can see where you're coming from but a major part
of the Leaf Storm's comfort is it's size. Not to big, not to small.

I ordered another one!

i've asked the same question here twice and still haven't read a solid review of how the knife handles. the handle design LOOKs really sketchy from a practical point view, kind of like the knife favors form over function.

i'm guessing that the lack of reports is probably due to the (currently) limited availability of the leafstorm.

It would be nice to see some in -hand pics in using positions... there is a good overview on Youtube, but stills would be nice!

Hey Archie, check out the Spyderco home forum. There's a thread called "Leafstorm Review. Lotsa pics" that is probably what you're looking for.

Your reviews rock, by the way.

Are these for sale anywhere yet ?
My guess would be that most of the first shipment sent to dealers went to fill pre-orders. There probably are a couple who still have one available. Know there were one or two on eBay last time I looked.

Waiting on mine to come in the mail.

Seen some pics and heard how nice it looks, but haven't heard anything about cutting and holding and carrying.

I got mine a week a go.
I was thinking I would like it more then my Strider PT and then sell the PT.
But I like the PT way more.
But for the price it is a nice little knife, I will post a few pics when I get off work tonight.
I think the lock side is pretty thin but for what can I expect for a knife at this price range. I would have preferred a full flat grind.
Pics to come and I may do a youtube review.

I don't own one and probably won't buy one but those translucent handles I really love! I'd like to see them put them on other knives as well.

Thanks for the review, especially compared to the PT. I sold mt PT CC a couple of months ago..,..fussy, didn't like off centre blade and late lock up.

Waiting for my Leaf Storm to arrive in the mail and am hoping it will do for me what the PT didn't...will have to see.

THANKS FOR THE VID!!! The Leafstorm looks like a FINE piece of art, and a great collector's item, but not so great as an EDC... I don;t think I'm gonna pick one up after all... but like you said, it IS nice!

If anyone does not like their Leaf Storm, I have a Hossom ontario retribution 2 and a ZT 200 PE both LNIB for trade.

I got mine the other day. In all honesty, it's not nearly as ergonomic as most of Spyderco's designs. You can choke up at the "bolster" but the hand position isn't great, and it's much less secure than Spyderco's traditional choil. It slopes towards the edge which is sharpened all the way down, so it doesn't instill confidence either. If you don't choke up, then the handle is small and feels lumpy towards the back.

That said, it's a beautiful work of art that is VERY well made, and that's why I bought mine. The G10 is very nice, and has a smoothly textured finish unlike most G10 scales. Only improvements I would have liked to see are a thicker 1/8" lock side and reposition the clip to sit half over the lock to act as a stabilizer. Not that either is really necessary, but I didn't expect the titanium side to be so thin compared to the G10 side (~.080" vs ~.145"). In my opinion it's more of a collector's knife than a user's knife, and I think it fills that role very well.

Got mine a couple days ago. I don't have any issue with the thickness of the Ti side - feels solid to me and locks up tight. Regarding the handle shape - on a three finger grip it works fine for me, feels comfortable in the hand (though not the most ergonomically designed folder I have). Trying to choke up and get your whole hand around the handle though doesn't work really well - without a proper choil area the grip just feels iffy.

My main issue is with the clip placement - too much of the butt end of the handle sticks out of the pocket - for a small knife it doesn't ride as deep in the pocket as I'd like.

All that said, I think it's a great knife, really quality construction and a perfect size. I like it enough that I've ordered one of Kevin's custom grips for it to dress it up a little.

It's a knive....A VERY well made pretty knife....Has any one tried cutting with it yet ?? I've got two coming, I don't want to be disappointed.

Nice pic ehhh...sounds like a Canadian.

Nope, I'm not Canadian, though I can see why you might think so :D

The knife isn't the sharpest knife I've handled and I think that's partially due to the sabre grind. It's not dull, but it lacks the bite that my Paramilitary had from the factory.
I also agree with Jeremy - the lock, despite being a little on the thin side, is very solid.

Thanks ehhh

I will get rid of the clip and thinking about installing hidden Tritium vials to light up the translucent G10.
