How bad have you been infected? As bad as me?

How bad have you become infected and addicted to really sharp, cheap, durable, sturdy, versatile tools? "Knifitis".

Scientific method to determine:

Go to Amazon and search your order history for two terms:

"Victorinox" and "Morakniv"

My counts:

"Victorinox" - 11 orders, 17 items
"Morakniv" - 12 orders, 20 items

So... How bad do I have it?

How do your cases of "knifitis" measure up?

Have I come to the right place to seek help?

i have a whole lot of knives. too many. you beat me badly and by far on owning moras and victorinox. maybe time to slow down a bit, unless you're gonna open a mora and victorinox knife store.:D

Heh this was a fun stroll down memory lane. I have ordered 18 knives off Amazon (many no longer used) my most recent being 3 years ago. It was actually a Fred Perrin Le Bowie I hope to have modified and rehandled someday. I try to buy more from here and official dealers.

Amazon =22

Ebay = 9

Knifecenter , MidWay USA and bunch of other places . I'm too lazy to track down .

Most Cold Steel at good prices .:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Not been shooting up much ammo recently ...so saved a bundle ! ;)

I wouldn't buy many knives on Amazon or ebay.

I have definitely noticed my knife spending limits increased significantly starting last year.
It's not bragging... I'm almost ashamed of it.
Yet I enjoy them, just wait you'll see.

I think I have purchased two knives on Amazon - a Mora 511, and a Mora Companion.

I have spent most of my money on tools and equipment for my hobbies. But I have a very nice preordered DEK1 coming.

Eh, I don't buy cheap anymore. I have enough high dollar knives to last me, my kids, and their kids. I only buy knives that check my boxes, now.

I have a beautiful girlfriend and family that will occasionally buy me knives I would have never bothered with on my own. I make the most of those knives and cherish them as heartfelt gifts.

But as for me, no, I rarely buy anthing not in the 250 to 700 range.

17 Victorinox + 20 Morakniv = 1 custom

maybe a slight exaggeration but you get the point. You have only just stepped into the rabbit hole.

In other terms Victorinox and Moras are gateway drugs, some of us are

But to answer your question

Victorox 3 orders 16 items

Morakniv 1 order 6 items.

They were all gifts for kids.

Festool - makes you appreciate how affordable your knife addiction is....

That and the feeling of joy you experience when finding out the casinos in NE Ohio have gone back to the 24/7 format after the curfew was lifted ;).

I used to buy Opinels in boxes of 12 to give out as Christmas gifts. Moras, Micras, Okapis and Kudus have received similar treatment. My own Moras number slightly more than a dozen, Opinels slightly less.

With Mora's, the point is to buy a pantload of them and stash one in every glovebox, backpack, boat, garage, shed, etc.

The cheapest I've found Companions for was $10 CAD. That's like $6.67 USD

These are literally knives that I would trust my life to, when stranded.

The 546 is a great boat knife to brain fish with and also works as an amazing gardening knife for the wifey (same with 511's)

Give them away for ppl to have in their workshop or hand one to a non-hiker, before heading into the woods.

Get pink ones for the women in your life.

Ppl love these damn things. Sharpest knife most people have ever used.

A mora should at least be everyone's backup fixed blade, due to their cost, performance and featherweight nature
