How bad have you been infected? As bad as me?

How bad have you become infected and addicted to really sharp, cheap, durable, sturdy, versatile tools? "Knifitis".

Scientific method to determine:

Go to Amazon and search your order history for two terms:

"Victorinox" and "Morakniv"

My counts:

"Victorinox" - 11 orders, 17 items
"Morakniv" - 12 orders, 20 items

So... How bad do I have it?

How do your cases of "knifitis" measure up?

Have I come to the right place to seek help?
Run! Run while you still can!!!!

When brands like Busse, Shirogorov, CRK, CPK, Winkler, Koenig, Hobeck, and Begg and custom makers enter your equation, you're disease is terminal!!! ;):D

To be honest, higher end knives don't excite me too much.

TOO nice and I'd be less inclined to use them, scuff them, scratch them or dull them.

I'm just to "practical". I appreciate niche geometries, more than exotic handles or bearing-smooth action.

I'll buy high-end steels for the performance, for better usage based on the end application...

...but just can't fully enjoy a beautiful wood or antler handle, if I can't use it how I want.

And I don't get high-end folders personally... I love the strength and simplicity of a fixed blade.

I'd consider a nice Ebony Opinel or an "exotic" Buck 112 (if such a thing exists??)

I'm more of a utility user...

And I strongly favour small (3.25" or smaller) blades as well. So that narrows it down and there's not many more on my wish list, unless another niche use comes up....

But I truly appreciate the aesthetics of a beautiful knife. I'll just look at all of yours.

...and don't forget Spydie PM2's and Millies, Striders, SurviveKnives, Slysz Bowie, TRM, ZT's..and the list goes on...
It's a fun ride...be watchful of your checkbook or you'll be facing divorce before you know it...
I was unabashedly obsessed for several yrs and came VERY close... It can be a tough row to hoe, but if you're
halfway careful, it's loads of fun and many new, insightful friends can be yours...

All knives knives I've acquired the past two months, me and you both have it bad.

Bad? You have it perfect. You are both behind and ahead of some at the same time. Keep your eye on the prize and you may never need to stray from that combo. Two of the most practical knives out there. I probably have a similar number of orders in the Companion and Classic SD alone... Perfect knives for every where and perfect gifts for most. Cheers!

I've never felt the need to own "all the knives" backup, stash in the Jeep etc. is money spent that could be spent elsewhere.
