How big of a clean room?

I'm building a shop now that's 20x30. I think Im going to build a "clean room" but not sure how big. What operations do you do In your clean room. All hot work, material cutting and grinding out in the "dirty room". So that leaves layout, hand sanding, file work, assembly. I have a leather room in the basement, and think I'll leave it there, for now.
Just looking for opinions of those who have done this before.
Thanks

im right in the middle of my new shop build

its 16x24 and i plan the whole upper floor as "clean" honing stones, kiln, shipping and office work (leather shop too at some point )

That's looks like it's going to be very cool shop Butch. -:thumbup:

Geez, and to think I was getting excited about the day I'll move my "dirty room" from the corner of the garage up to a 12x12 shed!

That will be one amazing workshop, be sure to put up some pics when its all done.

i worked ina corner for 7 years then moved in with my soon to be wife and she let me have part of the shed thts in the picture and work flow got much better. if it was nto for kayaks 4wheelers and other toys the 16x22 woudl have been my shop but we needed more space. i'll have this filld in short order .
i want another KMG and a big wheel grinder also need a larger wood lathe and real dril press (down the road a potters wheel in also wanted )

Im in the same boat, almost. Soon to be starting on a new house with a shop at least 20x30. Hopefully a little bigger. Im thinking about a clean room of about 6x10ish for assembly/leatherwork. Maybe 6x15 if i decide to put my reloading bench in the clean room as well

I haven't completely set my mind, but I run I that I might just take the last 8' and wall it off. That should give me enough room I can build benches 20"-24" deep on both walls and still have 4' of floor to walk on. Prob start off with a bench on one wall a build on as needed. I have 3/4 of the wall and roof tin on now, waiting for the rest to get in.
