how 'bout a mini-Mach 1 now?

Is there any call for a mini-Mach1, now that the usual suspects have gotten the green light on the mini-Commander?
I doubt I qualify as a Usual suspect since I've only posted a few times (but I lurk a lot) and only own a CN CQC7, but I just recently ordered a plain edge Mach1 for daily carry. I was looking for something with a better grip and utility blade than my other daily carries, the CQC7 and the Boker Brend. I haven't fallen for the Commander yet because I have to pass on the recurve blade (even the shallower recurve on the Brend isn't very good for my daily use) and the wave isn't my cuppa tea. I don't want to knock the Commander as it is quite possibly one of the best self-defense folders out there--Might even want jump on the "Usual suspect" mini if the price is right. But I thought a mini-Mach1 would be perfect for people like me for utility and defense in airports or in neighboring Georgia.

First of all, welcome to th forum. You're going to have a lot of fun here, and spend loads of money !

On the point of a mini MACH-1, I like the idea, maybe it will come out soon anyway though. First we had the Mini-CQC7, now the Mini-Commander. Is this a trend that may continue ?

Yes, welcome! These are a great bunch of guys, and after a while, checking in daily will become a habit.

I'll bet the mini Mach-1 will be a production job sooner than later. Ernie seems to like the idea of shrinking his designs, so who knows?

Welcome moorerwc. Don't question your nubie status, because I have found that no one else here does. If fact, new Supects are the envy of all others because we still have money. We can start an Emerson Waved Collection. We can treat ourselves to a Custom Emerson. It's like the new biker who gets his first stock Harley and can't wait to spend more. The others just shake their heads and remember when..... So be proud! I have nearly identical experience and taste as you. I also dismissed the wave, untill I spent a day with a Commander. I need more utility than a Commander, so now I carry a waved CQC7b daily. When a waved Mach I comes out, I'll change to that. And a mini-Mach I is certainly in my future. Enjoy and learn from these guys, it'll save you a lot of money.

Welcome to the Forums,I like the Mach-1, I have 2 but I Love the wave, it's the only way to go.Besides I think i'm back ordered for

heyz, I am a new collector of emersons too... I don't know if that categorizes me as a "new suspect" I have at present a SARK, LA GRIFFE, CQC7, SPECWAR. and all this from the last 2 months...
right now, I have another CQC7 and a MACH-1 on order, with the next one being the commander(haven't placed the order yet)..
however, the last one I would buy would most probably be the RAVEN, cause I don't fancy its krydon handles. it feels and looks very "PLASTICKY" even though it is said to be made of some kevlar-reinforced stuff, I still prefer g-10 and the like..

I'd definitely be interested in a mini-Mach 1. In general, I'm in favor of a mini-version of all the great Emerson Knives ...

Damascus versions of the Sark would be nice, too ...
