I received this kukri in the mail to find out that the tip was bent in transit. I went to the website and followed their advice on fixing the issue but as you can see the tip is still ruined. Any advice on how to fix it would be appreciated.

I'm sorry I tried to post an image to the post but it did not take. I have to figure out how to attach an image of the knife.

If you're on Photobucket, copy and paste the IMG Code underneath the image and put it on here.

Hello, did you buy it from khukhuri house ?
Im asking because i got mine with a badly screwed tip even worse than yours...

Well what i did is using a coarse inexpensive carborundum bench stone to grind the spine until i get a fresh but somewhat stouter tip . then i rounded the grind to match it with the spine curve.

You missed the / when you finished the image tag.

There is no "fixing" the tip...you have to reprofile it as stated. Be aware though...because of the way these are heat treated, you may find you don't have a lot of hard steel to work with. You may get the shape you wanted back, but having ground your way past the hard stuff and you now have a soft tipped khukuri.

Simply file the tip to shape. It's a lot easier and quicker that trying to use stones.

Yes i did get it from khukhuri House. Thanks for the image help Curtis_Lowe. If i avoid the grinder and use water stones will I be able to preserve the HT?

Dont use water stones. You'll end up grinding grooves into them.

They actually have this on the thekhukurihouse website (bold added by me).

Some kukris’ sheath are freshly made. In order to protect it from rusting the blade is packed separately (not tucked in) and shipped. In a case like this the blade may pierce a hole in the packing, get exposed and thus get bent in transport. If such happens then please follow the following steps to correct it.

Seriously?
