How, exactly, do I go about cleaning this knife? Also, what lube does Spyderco use at the factory?

Wipe it off, wash with soap and water, blast the insides with hot water, dry thoroughly, oil

According to this thread, post #7, they use Loctite Viperlube, a 10W hi-perf synthetic.

I use Mineral Oil, pharmacy grade, $2/pt, for all blades that touch food.

Froglube is a favorite 'hi-end' lube that is also food safe.

I personally wound wash it out with hot water and then give it a good blast with WD-40 - wipe it down and call it good.

Yep, granted the 10w is just a guess. she didn't specify what type.

Mineral oil works well for something cheap, any gun oil, breakfree is a forum favorite, eezox, etc.

I don't want to get into an argument.. but I would suggest you do NOT use WD-40, just because it tends to pick up a lot of nastiness from the environment.
