How come my pics are different

I hate to say this, but maybe your images are the issue. What settings are you setting your camera to when you take the images, are you using digital zoom? are you using any sort of compression on the images? and most importantly are you using a tripod?

It is hard to diagnose the pictures over the web through several layers of forwarding but it looks like there is a little bit of camera shake on a badly lit low contrast image, but that could just be compression/decompression artifacts

OK let me try to restate this as this thread is becomong a runaway!

I can post even if the picture I posted was extremely crappy!

But there is a difference between how this photo is posted:
(This is a better photo of another of my knives )

However it does not post in the same manner as a photo posted by say Dan Pierson in his thread:

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=834919

Dan's comes up in a blue rectanular box at the bottom of the post and if you place you cursor over the pic, it will automaatically enlarge and if they do a series it becomes a slide show, asking if you want to see the next pic or the first,etc......

That is the difference I am talking about. I know my picture was crappy, those were taken when I didn't realize how important a good picture was. The thing I was trying to figure out was how come I couldn't figure out how to post one like Dan's pic.

I think it has to do with being a paid member, because when I try to use the insert image link from Blade forums I get the box with the red x in it. Maybe somebody from headquarters like bladsmth will chime in on this.

Oh and WILL Welcome back anyway you ole fart! :D:D:D:D

You do need a paid subscription to post attachments.

I prefer the pics to be posted full size in the window as opposed to thumbnails.

attachment.php

I think the thumbnails only appear on the post where you clicked and uploaded the attachments to bladeforums, and not on posts where you later post the same attachment.

Not sure if there is a way to post them as a thumbnail also.

I don't have a paid membership, but one benefit I see with the paid membership is when the pictures are uploaded to the forum they don't go away if you delete them from your photo-host site. The paid membership is probably partially to help pay for the storage required for the images.
