How cool is this forum?! Big thanks to some members.

Well, pictures are uploading now. I've gotten them shaped, and sanded to 400 grit so far. Working on refining it up, and I'm going to try to match the shade of the sheath. Cryptyc, can you throw up some pics of the sheath? After I get the coloring sorted, I'll take it to 2500 grit and do a finish coat. Probably will be able to finish it this week. I screwed up a bunch of the wood because it was deceptive, and I thought the grain went in a direction perpendicular to how it actually went. So I've got a bunch of nice scales cut out that are against the grain, and therefore worthless because they'll break easily. I should have enough left for another few blades from the block I used. It's gorgeous stuff, and I'll have to look into getting more. I think it will have really nice chatoyance once it's fully finished.

Here's some shots of the scales on my 5.

crimson,
Those looks amazing so far. Wow, if that's the rough product, I'm going to be over the moon for the scales when they come in! I can't wait to post a bunch of pics of them on my BK2. I've been holding off on posting in the post pics of your Beckers and Custom Beckers threads till I get these bad boys.

Here's a bunch of shots of my sheath:

Thanks again brother. These are going to be amazing on my BK2.

Nice. A lot of people just carry smaller knives, SAKs or slip joints to the office, but obviously you don't compromise.

You NAILED it! Those are going to look amazing on my BK2 and compliment the sheath perfectly. You are the man.

Jerry, hahahaha. No sir, I am not allowed to carry even a pocket knife where I work. I'm pretty sure they'd be upset with me. Although, I am known as the guy to ask about knives or firearms in my office. They probably wouldn't be afraid, so that's a positive.

Here's a couple more shots, sanded to 2400 grit and several coats of Danish oil applied. It's about ready to ship. Shoot me your address, and I'll get them out to you this week.

Sent you that e-mail with my shipping address.

I plan on buying stainless hardware for it so it matches my stripped knife and these beautiful wood scales. I'll have to take my factory bolts and nuts to the hardware store to make sure I get the right size.

Thanks fellas. Yeah, that's some gorgeous stuff. I'm definitely on the lookout for more curly maple now. I think I know which blade I'm going to put the rest of it on too...

Those are absolutely gorgeous.
And you're right - best group of guys (and gal!) on the Internet.
I hope to meet a few in person in the coming months.

Update:

Mr. Falcon notified me that the scales are on their way!!! Thanks again good sir. Tracking says Monday or Tuesday so I'm pumped.

The timing couldn't be better. I was taking my factory hardware out to bring to the hardware store to get stainless version and my one factory scale hole where the screw goes through decided to give away. A chunk came out with the screw, so the screw has nothing to squeeze down on, it would just screw all the way down to the blade. Not sure why it happened, but I have taken them on and off a few times, I'm sure that didn't help.

Anyhow, these beautiful wood scales are on their way to me and I couldn't be more grateful. Thank you again Crimson I cannot wait to post up the pics when I get them on my blade.
