How dangerous are matches and BIC lighters?

BICs are damn good,reliable,essential and as safe as anything CAN be. Matches are fine if you don't strike them or drop them in the fire......A match-case will house them in complete safety.
 
IIRC, I had a cheap disposable explode in a clothes dryer once. By explode, I mean it ruptured. I have had dozens of plastic lighters, Bics and others, make it through the laundering process unscathed.
