How did GSP win? With the help of Vaseline

Penn had no chance. Period. Penn could have gone in there with Vaseline coating his entire body and he would have got his a$$ handed to him, again. Penn never, ever, had a chance and needs to stay at 150 where he CLEARLY dominates.
Besides, isn't the whole story that it was wiped off after being noticed by an official?
C'mon now...Innocent until proven guilty?

Next to Anderson Silva, GSP may be the best all around mix martial artist.

I say Florian kicks his butt and takes his lightweigt title too, Penn is good but he isnt the best by far.
 
Vaseline does not just wipe off! It takes many applications of soap! Don't ask me how I know. :D

Penn's not cut out to fight at 170. It was a boring fight, I'm glad I didn't pay too watch it. Prediction: Silva would pound GSP, if they ever fight. Don't get me wrong, I have never been able to warm up to Anderson Silva, I don't care for him much. But him and Fedor seem to fight in a Matrix like dimension.

I don't see what Penn could have done to win that fight, or what GSP could have done to lose it. GSP is just on another level of precision and strength right now. Technically, he's a better fighter than Anderson Silva. The two won't fight because of the weight difference. It just won't happen. If GSP were 20 lbs heavier, while still maintaining his current abilities, he would beat Silva. No doubt about it. He would be Ali to Silva's Foreman. He's too good and too smart.
 
anderson silva would absolutely crush GSP, period! I hope they fight at a catch weight and it wouldnt matter. GSP has been beaten big time! Anybody seen anderson Silva get beat AT ALL, much less had his butt whipped??????? Get a grip! GSP wouldnt fight him if he got all the weigh down to 180 or 185 cuz he knows Silva is the BEST pound for pounder in the entire world!
 
At an equal weight division, GSP would beat Silva. I have yet to see a fighter with the combination of smarts, conditioning, pure strength, striking ability, takedown ability, and wrestling prowess as St. Pierre. Not even close.

Silva is kind of a freak of nature, and it's fun to watch him fight. In a striking-only fight (which MMA is NOT, obviously) Silva would win. But in a real UFC fight, which is what we're talking about, GSP would wear him down or beat him on the ground.

As good as Silva's BJJ skills are-- and they are GOOD-- Penn's are even better. You could argue Penn's are the best in all of MMA. GSP totally made them a non-issue.

St. Pierre gets better with each fight. His list of recent victories and how easily he won are simply amazing. He would beat Silva.
 
Nowhere does it say it helped him win. You don't accidentally put your hand in vasoline and then immediately to shoulders and back. Even Dana White immediately knew it was illegal. Google gsp and yahoo sports has pictures and Dana Whites comments.
This deal kinda reminds me about George Brett and the pine tar deal. I know nothing about baseball so maybe it did help him hit a home run. Doesn't make sence to me.

Vaseline IS an UNFAIR advangage BUT was it the difference in the fight? NO, probably not. Am I the only one the watched Lyoto Machida dismantle Thiago Silva, a Muay Thai master that was undefeated at 13-0? I think that Machida will take Anderson Silva and be the next 205 champ. YMMV but just because American fighters haven't been able to neutralize The Spider's Muay Thai doesn't mean other fighter's from around the world won't be able to. Plus everybody loses (except Fedor).

No your not I watched that fight too but A Silva is not the Champ at 205 Rashad Evans is, and I do think you are right about Machida being the champ at 205 this year.

Although I do think that would be a great war, Machida and The Spyder!!


I know you knew that, you just got confused!!
