I picked up my first folder a couple of weeks ago, a Strider SMF tanto, and then after getting of the forums, reading up and learning a bit more, this happened...

I am scared for the future. Any advice? I now find myself taking pointless pictures like these

My wife thinks I am crazy, and I am beginning to believe it...

It is a disease. The only cure is poverty.
I'll see you at the soup kitchen sir. :o

Hey, two of those pictures had points, but the knives were closed in the others ;)

Welcome to knives! It started with me a year and a half ago. There are knives all over my house, I have several customs and midtechs on order. I cruise the forums everyday. I am very happy.

I wonder how different it feels to start high end vs to start from the very bottom of the scale. We'll never know. But I do know that you've got some fine blades there and if your wife thinks you're crazy now, just wait until you get into customs. She'll be signing you up for a psychiatric evaluation in no time!

I know the feeling. In the past 4 weeks I bought a large tanto sebenza, an SMF, two xm-18 3.5"ers, an old custom crawford and ordered Brous' new flipper and a Bodega.

Bladeforums well, let me put it to you like this before this forum I had heard ofEmersons, spyderco and Benchmade, I collected benchmades, and had 1 emerson that was a gift. Thanks to the Forums I've spent thousands and thousands of dollars on knives, Granted I buy/sell/trade a lot as well now to get what I want, but I still finding myself spending a lot of cash. In other words you're screwed my friend, just accept it and move on...LOL

Seperate your knives quickly... they are breeding and multiplying  :D

This one is pretty good.

The real question is will you come to your senses and sell one? Or continue plummeting toward Earth in a fiery, smoke filled spin?

Happy knife buying!

I had spinal fusion 3 months ago. During the surgery I must have been infected with the knife bug. Or it could be I'm stuck in bed on this damn computer.

Well, I must admit, I bought an Emerson CQC15, and had it for a day before I decided to pony up to the Strider, and quickly flipped it. I thought that the Strider would meet my initial needs, but it was too big for EDC, so of course a PT made sense, but that was before I realized that the Sebenza was more my speed...and you can see where this ended up.

I envision many more knives to come and go. On a separate note, what is a good knife in the $100-$200 range to keep a look out for? I like buying pre-owned and "users" are fine with me at this point.

Two of the most popular knives in that price range would be:
Spyderco Paramilitary 2
Benchmade Griptilian

I would also keep an eye out for custom EDC fixed blades, JK Knives can be found for that price range and sometimes even lower. There are many other makers on this forum as well.

The only cure is poverty. Lol
How do you like the smf? I'm afraid it will be too big once I get one.

Since August, I've spent like $1200+ on knives. I had no idea. I guess I'm gonna have to sell some. :(
