How did you arrive at a 110?

...Notoriety can be a real curse eh?...

I forget what the quick & dirty fix was... :(

Was it -

(1) Crush it in a vise

(2) Apply pressure with the arbor press

(3) Tap it lightly with the BMFH

Whichever...If it does work, it will probably require some filing & sanding, if the bolsters do move...

Let's go with -

(4) Pack it up and send it to Buck

...:D...

My Dad carried a 110 regularly as far back as I can remember. The funny thing is, when I first started accumulating Bucks, I wasn't particularly attracted to the 110. I'm not sure what happened, but I can't seem to stop buying them now...

I bought my first 110 when I was sixteen. I grew up watching the Dukes of Hazzard, and am mostly sure that was the knife that Bo and Luke used on the show. (possible it was the Schrade LB7, but I think it was Buck. Guess I could google that. ) Anyhoo...my folks said that i could have it for hunting but not for normal carrying as well. so many years went by before I edc'd one. Then a handful of years back in college, I rediscovered them, and they have been my main edc for the last handful of years or so. Discovered slipjoints last year, and developed a obsession/ appreciation for many of the patterns, but at the end of the day, I always come back to the 110, it is my favorite knife, can't find one I like more.

So the reason I found one, was I came from a line of rednecks, and wanted to drive the General Lee and be just like the Duke Boys, now I carry it , because I can't find a better knife for me.

I never have. No one ever asks to borrow my knife though.............which could be a good thing.

300Bucks

Got hooked on the 110 in the 60's. My parents gave it to me for something like my 16th birthday. Still a good knife.

also inspired by The Edge, but i first bought an 112, the knife in the movie seemed to have a smaller blade then 110, but after some searching, ive learned about the true lenght of that "lyttle" knife, and also liking the design and quality of the 112, bought an 110, along with other 112

One day, I went into a knife shop with the idea that I wanted a Benchmade. I tried a few models, but they were just missing something. During my perusal, I happened on a FG 110, which was sitting there in all it's gleaming brass and wood glory. Well, once I felt the solid heft and comfortable grip of that 110, I was sold. Even today, a number of 110s' later, I still get that feeling of security and comfort from a 110.

I picked up my first one while serving in the Navy. When I got my crow and got to wear my folding knife and marlinspike in a belt rig it was a choice between the original or a Case copycat.

I got the 110 and have never looked back.

1967 was 15 and the electrician i worked with was telling me what tools i needed at the hardware store.. all on pay role deduct of course.. he said i needed that knife for skinning wire as it would hold up..the buck knife = 10$ (?).. a set of kines and dikes = 6$
still got the dikes
the knife was "lost" but i bought another... it had a lot of 'wow' factor when others seen it..
(strange that electrician showed up with one right at the end of summer)
any one else find that buck knives seem to get "lost" a lot other then me?
i had to start buying cheep Pakistan knives for loaners!

How did you arrive at a 110?
An alien gave me my first 110...I think it's the same one they did my lobotomy with...I think they did other things with it, too...It smells really bad... :barf:

Bleach did not help? well try this-
save your coffee grounds for a week..
mix in 1 cup apple sauce and
1 lb shredded Limburger cheese
dig a 16" X 16" x 6" deep sq hole in the back yard,
put 2 inches of mix in hole
put the alien 110 in
put in 2 more inched of coffee ground mix
and fill in remainder of hole with fine white sand..
for a week set out a can of cat food a day about 6 feet away ..
then dig it up by hand ( you dont want to damage your knife)
and you wont smell that alien smell ever again .. ;)

I like the flexiblity of the 110 and the added length offers alittle more use. A great knife. DM
