I also found this place while websearching for info' on a Buck knife, it was a 311 Trapper with the "Winchester" shield.

Buck knives, bringing folks together!

I had not fondled and admired my knives for years:o :( .
I started searching for a place on the internet to sell my knives:eek: ,which was hard to do mentally and physically as I have only been working off and on with a computer since 2001.:thumbdn:
This was 02/20/06 not even a year ago.Best thing to happen to me in years. :D
I also found e-bay  at the same time, bought over 100 Buck knives last year from Buck,Larry Oden,wh4f,hkingdom,muzzleup and many others.
Joined the BCCI as a life member and have met many great people
since then.....I hope the fun ,friendship and my 300 + Buck knives multiplies!:D :D

That's a good question, Dave. My profile says that I joined in 2001, but I can't recall how I discovered it. I think maybe a through a web search.

Not sure. I can be such a pillock sometimes. :o

I discovered Blade Forums while searching for info on Remington Bullet knives. Then after a few months in the General forum I stumbled into the Buck forum.

Hey TAH.... Pillock has a nice ring to it.... :)

I ran into it looking for a buck.

Never new there were so many people that had as much fun with knives as I do. I had to show my wife to prove my love for pocket knives is not a crazy one...!!!! Or, perhaps, to prove to her that I am not the only nut job in the world....!!! You pick.

I love reading about it all. I never new there was so much to know...

Found it doing a general search of knife info. Been a closet Buck collector (if 2 knives = a collection) for over 30 years.

Ya know, I'm thinking about changing my user name to Pillock. Didn't John Wayne use to call folks, Pillocks? No, I'm wrong, it was Pilgrim. Ah, what the heck did he know. If you're cool, you call people, Pillocks. ;)

I showed this site to my Wife, she thinks we are ALL CRAZY.

My co-worker, Jeff Hubbard first turned me on to another site. It was my first time in a discussion site like that. Was not moderated and EVERY thread turned into a flame war.
I finally had to leave. Then Jeff told me about this place and I have been here ever since. What a great group of people here eh!? :D

I agree, good people and very informative and it is good the owners / employees post in this Buck sub-forum.

I did learn to stay away from the "Wine & Cheese" section of this forum though.

Serious answer:
I googled a knife I was interested in (don't remember which one) and found myself reading an interesting thread here.

Non-serious answer:
Came for the coffee, stayed for the pie. :D

We are married to the same woman then.
No one in my family gets it.

"How did I end up here?".
Was searching the web to see about getting another 110 over the web instead of a brick and mortar store. I kept seeing links to Bladeforums, and it was bugging me to the point that I actually would "-bladeforums" in my search argument...this prevented any hits from this forum. I didn't want to be a part of any reindeer games with a buncha knife knerd pillocks!!!!!! ;)

Then I was searching for an article on damascus. The rest is too poodley eyed to expalin regarding the great data and even greater peeps that are here. I'd get all mushy and need a hug.

I've always been fond of knives, but only recently started seriously accumulating significant quantities. (I don't like to call it collecting :o ) I used to go into knife stores and drool but walk out with nothing. In 2004, I bought a couple of 110's and was looking for Buck knife information and came across the site and have been here ever since. I enjoy the information, the people that come here and everything about collecting (Ooops! There's that word  ) Buck knives.

I ran an internet search on a Spyderco a few months ago. I registered for the purpose of looking into that knife just that one time. Then, I ran a search for the Sog Tech Bowie just before Christmas and found the SOG forum. I Back tracked to the main site, thought the site looked familiar, logged in and stopped by to see what you folks were talking about. Turns out you were talking about something called a "110" which I thought looked like those old timey Buck folders my dad used to complain was stolen from his car at a car wash. The internet search happened to coincided with the recent thought that one of those old timey Buck folders would make a good general camping/hunting knife. When I found the Custom Shoppe on Buck's website, I couldn't get the thought of a stag hanlded, egraved knife out of my head.

After concluding that you guys know a thing or two about knives I decided to stick around - at least until I can post pictures of my custom shoppe Old Timey Buck Folder.
