How did you first come across Becker knives?

And what did you think of them when you first came across them? And what made you love them?

If I never became a user on this site, I don't think I would have never heard of Becker knives, as I was buying cheapo sanremnus off craigslist thinking I was getting a killer deal. Because of that as well, I thought the Beckers were too plain looking :P I don't think it was until one user in the general forums made a post in a thread I was participating in (or made, I can't remember) made a post of all the "poses" a BK2 can strike and still look killer. The simple shape had me interested, and then when I learned that it outweighed all my previous knives put together, I was sold. Now I have 2 Beckers and 2 more on my wish list :D

Pics by request (cellphone crap quality!)

I added in some bullet casings and a clone trooper so that you know I mean business.

Adam from Equip2Endure is how I ended up here. I should really send him a thank you letter...and my credit card bill...

Actually, it was Adam from E2E's BK2 review that got me interested, and people here that made me buy it, though I think back and think that Uncle E had a really good point that a smaller knife would serve me more actively, but at that point the Tweener's weren't out (about a month and a half away, but I didn't know at that point, and the FPR16 cost more than the BK2), and I wanted a big knife because I already had a 3 inch (albeit an el cheapo folder) knife. Speaking of first Becker's, does anyone have a spare set of Grivory handles they don't want anymore? I seem to have cracked mine when tightening the screws up (by hand)......

I didn't see this, but I think your right, he deserves a thank you letter, as well as my credit card (well debit card, I don't like charging stuff) bill, it's all his fault.

Hit me up if you can't find any in about 2 weeks. I'm making some wooden scales and if they turn out well and you can't get yourself a replacement, I'll gladly ship them to you :)

I am across the Becker knives from being a customer of Hedgehog Leatherworks. I frequent the Hedgehog website and was intrigued by a new knife they had for sale, the Becker BK2 Companion Knife. Although I have yet to get my 1st Becker knife(will be getting my 1st Becker this month), I was intrigued by the BK2 from the video review that was on the Hedgehog website.

I can't wait till the day I finally get my 1st Becker!

I actually came across Esee first which led me to the Becker forum. As you can see by my screen name. Funny that, since I have more Beckers than Esee's!!! BK2 was my first.

Adam from E2E. But I finally pulled the plug on my BK-2 after seeing a review from a guy here in Oz.

While shopping bayonets I came across an ad for a BK&T-3 Seal Team issue. It had a copy of the paperwork with NSN number and everything, I thought it was the baddest thing I ever seen and had provenance. Price was too dear so I hunted around and bought a vanilla non-mil purchased Tac Tool for way less than the government :p Well, 5-1-12 has come and past, but I still think about that one, though the rarity and collectability (sp) is truly in the eye of the beholder. Like Elvis' .45, the 16k Mangusta back in 1981, or that oh so cute brunette, it will be the one that got away. I drown my sorrows with many other Beckers :)

I was into Ontarios, then a friend asked me to paint his Becker (get your mind out of the gutter!:grumpy:).
He's an interesting dude who trains first responder crews how to use their UTVs (side-by-side ATVs) that Homeland Security handed out to almost every fire department in the country (your tax dollars at work). Uncle Sam said "Here. Take this for free" but very few firefighters knew how to use one, and injuries were rampant. My friend's training company set up a course on how to negotiate hills, obstacles, water, etc.
ANYWAY, he would keep an old Camillus BK-9 lashed to the roll bar of his instructor's UTV for emergencies. He told me lots of stories of using it for a shovel, axe, etc.
I remember him telling me the price he paid for it years ago (less than $25 new), and I was shocked. Before I gave him back his BK I bought a -9 for myself and it was a very different beast -- besides being lots more money! As I recall, his was almost a full 1/4-inch thick which added weight, of course, but the most obvious difference was the thickness of the grip. I've been big on scale spacers on the "new" Beckers since then.
The rest is history... :D Between new knives in stock and Beckers in various stages of modification I probably have 35 BKTs hanging around my shop!

Hmmm, me thinks I should go back in time and buy up as many Cam Becker's as I can, 1/4" thick at $25... Even the Remora is that much now!

Im new to the site as of last night .Rivertamer pointed me in this direction .

I found my first Becker in a box of knives at a militaria show . It is a Cam BK2 , had to have it as it is a beast of a knife but it has the partially serrated blade which I dont care for so its never been used , I would rather have a plain blade Cam BK2. Then the other day I found a Cam BK9 at a gun show in a pile of knives on a table .Bought it for cheap and am now on the hunt for a decent sheath for it . I already stripped the enamel and added some patina to the metal. It will make me a nice truck/camping/yard work knife.

Hi, RJ, welcome to the Forum (saw your other post).

There are a number of us that do Kydex sheaths for Beckers or anything else. It will take a while, but you'll figure it all out eventually! :D

You've got a good start with your historical Cams. If you haven't done it yet, check out the historical stickies at the start of the Forum.

A very large gentleman wearing a hockey mask carrying a sledgehammer and a BK2 hacked his way through my concrete steps pried open my front door then hammered the becker into my refrigerator door then he left but he left the becker also pretty even trade I think just glad he didn't see my lawn mower!

I discovered Beckers not long after I joined the forum. I was reading through some threads and noticed a pattern. Every time someone made a thread asking what knife they should get, a bunch of people would instantly answer that he should get a Becker and that he would not be disappointed. So I had a look, and in the beginning I thought they looked a little weird, but after a while I got used to it and ordered one. Now I'm a happy Becker owner :D

I came across them on Amazon researching highest reviewed knives for zombie attacks. Actually put the BK2 on the list long before coming here and seeing the glowing reviews and recommendations for it.
