How did you get here?

I bought a s&w badge knife from a knife store, looked it up on the web, found it on 1sks, followed a link from there to here.

I was looking for multi-tool reviews and stumbled on the FAQ section. And before I knew it, half my gun money was going towards knives. :D

If your a pushover for a nice looking or feeling or cutting knife and your bank knows you as that knife nut and you like the high tech toys. NEVER visit the Candle Power Forums! If you thought knifeaholics had the disease, flashaholics are in the critical care ward and most bank accounts are on life support and one paypal from flatlining.

I was trying to find some information on something, I don't even remember what. I started with another forum, but didn't care for their search engine. I came over here, really liked the control and features of the search engine, and spent an hour per day reading old threads. After a few months, I joined.

Here, I don't have to explain or defend my interest in knives and other daily carry stuff. I like that...:)

Like many others I was on a search engine doing a knife search. I clicked on a link that had something I was interested in and it took me to BladeForums. I lurked for a while and then then decided to join. Boy has that decision ever cost me a lot of money. Not that I'm complaining, mind you.

......in the glorious year of 1946, at approx. 1:30 a.m. I fell off an unspecified turnip truck at the intersection of "Too Much Money" and "Not Enough Good Sense"!!

I was thinking about that tonight when I was walking the dog. I'm not really sure but I think that I saw a Sebenza at Plaza Cutlery in Costa Mesa and did a search for Chris Reeve Knives and that linked me to BF. Thousands of dollars later and $2,500 of knives on order and I'm still here telling myself that this has to stop. I always see that one more knife I have to have. Mostly I'm into CRK knives because they make an awesome product and are left hand friendly. Others that I like are Mayo, Crawford, A.T. Barr, Obenauf, John W. Smith, Greg Lightfoot and Scott Cook. Of course the ones on order don't all come in at once but sometimes out of the blue I get one come in and I just find the money somewhere even if it has to go on the credit card I'll get it. I keep telling myself I gotta slow down. But I think you guys know how that goes.:D  ;) :p

I've always collected knives since I was about 7 but never took it seriously. I just kept ending up with more and more knives because I liked them.

Time passed. I became an adult.

I was carrying a CRKT Doolittle for 4 years. Then I bought a CRKT Mirage that I carried for nearly a year.

Then I was walking through a gunshow and saw a Benchmade Ares 730 on a display rack. I picked it up and opened and closed it a few times...

After that it's all a blurr...

That was a few years ago and now I have about 60 knives and I can't control myself!

P.S. I still have my BM Ares 730.

A very close friend and fellow knifenut, as well as a former member of the Forums (xotdt) showed this site to me back in Oct 98...The rest is history....

I thought steel was steel...then one day I stumbled on AG Russell's website (looking for a fillet knife) and became confused by 440A & 440C. While attempting to unravel this mystery I arrived at Blade Forums. Up to that time I was normal...in less than an hour I was completely strung out...I am now a hopeless addict with no chance for recovery.

I have a link on my desktop at home and at work that transports me directly to Nordic Knives' "current Randall inventory" and it's the first thing I do each morning ;)

I'm buggered if i can remember how I got here, probably through a google search looking for knives and such.

I waste far too much time on here but at least I can talk to people who don't think I'm some sort of deranged homicidal maniac just because I carry a Leatherman Micra around with me.

i think i first found the place a few years back while searching online for balisong information.

I was searching for "knives" and "forums" and found rec.knives, then knifeforums... then bladeforums... tacticalforums, switchblade forums... and many others.

Ive always been a knife nut.
Around December 1999. I was doing searches for Criswell swords and such and kept coming back to this site where gratuitious Busse Mr Mojo pictures and rabid knifeaholics appeared to be quarantined.

I left laughing more than a few times.
Who would pay $650 for a funky looking bowie knife then turn rabid if you made fun of them for it?? And how come there were so many of them?

But I kept ending up back here. Lurked for a while then just quit fighting it.
It has been an informative and expensive trip.
Thanks a lot ya bastids!

Of course, I've always loved knives, but became a serious student of knives in about '92 but I didn't have internet then. I just read knife rags and got catalogs. Then I became a serious student of guns and got the internet, and discovered gun forums e.g. the FAL File Forums, AR15.com, 1911 Forums, Hi-Power Forums, among others. Last Fall, I realized I needed some more knives for utility work outside and around the house, so it occured to me that there ought to be some discussion forums on knives. So I searched and found this (and others) and the info. has been great. Since then we've decided to buy a new house and my job has become unstable, so I've decided to cut back on guns (because they are more expensive) and knives have become my number one interest. It has been a fascinating and rewarding subject to study.
