How did you get started?

How did you get started?

You'll have to ask my parents.....;).

actually, bigghoss made me do it with all his "you can't not have a 9!" and "the 9 will cleave the fabric of space/time" stuff. How could I not get one? Plus, how you can only slay a unicorn with a 9 and some other claims/statements of fact that I have yet to see realized. But I did find this great group of people.....and after attending a few Gatherings and meeting some of the other 'Heads, I can say without reservation that I made an excellent choice. I've been a tool/knife guy for a long time; Ethan's designs are great, functional tools....and the people who use them do, in fact, find their lives improved overall by as much as 11.3% - and closer to 19% if they own a 9.

So, on the subject of videos...and I hope this is't too sensitive a subject....

I went looking before I bought my bk7, but it seems like there are about 2.5 million videos with people doing the same thing over and over. I like the posts on here where real people are using their knife to make food, bushcraft, mod etc. I just like seeing knives in every day action. You guys sure know how to make an addict.

^its not sensitive. People DO show batoning too much and make it sound like its the test that knives have to pass. Batoning is great, and its neccessary that's the ONE tool you carry. But there's more conservative ways to use energy by processing firewood and building shelters.
I myself prefer to make little V cuts along a thick branch then smacking it down on a rock, and let gravity to the work. This way I only have to kneel when I process firewood so there's much less accidental self butchery
