How did you use your knife today?

Yesterday I was out early to do a wildlife survey on a nearby farm. Used Leatherman Blast to sharpen my pencil. My colleague looked suprised that I had a knife, so I sharpened his pencil too ! Later on, the pliers were useful to help colleague who got stuck on barbed wire stockfence.
Returned home to open mail with Vic Climber and remove staples. Worked on survey report. Used Vic to open new printer cartridge.
Used Opinel at lunchtime to slice salami, peel orange and cut up apple.
After work, used Helle Fjellkniven to trim pea sticks in vegetable plot, and to open sack of chicken feed. Finished evening with a bottle of heather ale which needed the Vic bottle opener.

Sog Pentagon to wrestle open the tough packaging on a Playstation. Opened the cat food with my SAK (gave up on the shiite gimiky kitchen openers long back). Fixed glasses frame with Paratool pliers.

Cut sweet melon with Pentagon.

Yesterday I had an early morning appointment at the V.A. hospital, and afterward ate breakfast at the cafeteria. Had to use my bone stag peanut to cut the large Italian sausage as the plastic knife was'nt up to the task.

Later in the day I went out to the range, and then used the vic tinker to take the grips and cylinder screws out of my Smith and Wesson 617, so I could clean it. The tinker later opened my mail.

I used my Northwoods pen knife to slice open a bag of returnable bottles in front of the store manager at the grocery store I shop at. The auto counting machine was out of service so he had to do it by hand. I couldn't tell if he was looking at the knife in admaration or whether he was uneasy that I took out and used a knife, it was wierd.

Tony Bose HTT with a wharencliff, opened three bags of 40lb. dog food (them little pull strings never work) opened mail, cut up two computer boxes for the dumpster, opened two boxes of Eley .22 ammo for practice, cut two groups out of the target that I shot to use as referances, sliced an apple up, cut up my steak at Logens road house and cut some loose strings off the dogs toys before bed. Then I put some renaissance wax on the stag, a little wipe down with balistol on the blades and put her on my nite stand just in case. Back in my right front pocket this morning to face another day of cutting chores.

At lunchtime I used my new small (3 1/8 inch closed) Jeff Cover Custom Slipjoint to cut my "Schnitzel" - and it worked fine and I am very satisfied. :D

I cut some large cable ties that were strapping a part to a machine.
Yesterday I cut my inside forearm because I thought my edge was dull and found out I was wrong.

Yesterday the fam gathered at Cracker Barrel for the monthly catch-up. While I was waiting for them to show up, I whittled with my damascus "Backpocket" while rocking on the porch. A couple of old gals walked by and one asked me, "Whatcha makin'? I said, "nothing but shavings".

yesterday i used my old timer large stockman to cut the slab of ham i had for dinner. that left a nice colorful patina on the blade. this morning i used my leatherman micra to prune the rose buishes and to fix the shower water control handle.

Well because of you fine folks I just got my Case Sodbuster CV yellow. So far it has been used to cut a bagel, and slice open my mail. Looking forward to slicing some fish up for a fish boil over Memorial Day weekend:D

Just planted a few rosebushes... OK last weekend...I hope that counts. This is my gardening knife. I used it to cut open the packages, the string binding the stems, a little trimming etc.

No one has mentioned whittling. I set on my porch and whittle about every evening. Just making shavings, very relaxing. I use them for a bunch of other everyday chores.

Hey Tony, aHUmmmmm-cough-cough! :D

Now you done it, done shown up the boss!!! :p

Holiday here in Europe! Yes!

Cut slices of mountain sausage, cheese, gherkins and apple for a snack with Weidmannsheil stag lockback-still trying to develop patina on it...

Later on did some pruning and opening plant containers with a jigged bone hawksbill gardening knife.Find these difficult to sharpen though, stripped some wire with it too.

Finished off playing with a mini-copperlock by case, just like worry beads helps you to think.

Today was a boring slow day for me. All I had to do was open a package containing some hardware for a vehicle roof rack I need to get installed. Nice to know I'm not the only guy that calls making shavings from a stick whittling. I don't have the talent to make neat little useful or ornamental items.

I was actually whittling a little while waiting for the chicken to cook out on the bar-b-q. I used a cocobolo queen whittler. In my own little world, just shaving and picking away--almost burned the chicken!

I'm always catching hell from the wife for leaving my wood shavings all over. Makes things homey if you ask me!

No whittling yet today though, just opening mail and some food packaging.

I used My SAK Cadet today to cut the tape off the mouth of a Gator. At the Gator Wrestling Arena, we do something called Rookie Wrestling, where we pull up a gator, tape it's mouth, and let the guests come out and sit on it's back. My Cadet cut through the tape like a hot knife through butter. I also used the cadet to unscrew some signs at the train station, and to whittle.... er, make shavings. Great little whittler/shaver.
